I didn't say I had a problem with it, I think you misunderstood what I said(somehow) as a criticism of Linkin park but you can see I just said changed as in they changed their style.
Was directing it to someone else, and using your statement to show that they started out as such. Sorta confusing there.
I understand all what you're talking about, but I still think that, even in their first albums, Linkin Park didn't do any metal... And Fusion rock is not a made up term, I know many people using it...when you made some music with fusion of rock and rap, or metal and rap, like LP seems to do... LP is still very mainstream...
I don't fully understand what you mean by this? Is that the fact that LP is not reapresentative for all Nu metal band? I agree of course, but I'm really not a fan of metal anyway, so I recognize I don't really know about other bands!

Not really. Each band has their own special brand of music that makes them unique. Just that their music could be roughly grouped under the same genre.
I think it is because metal and nu metal are very different. Metal is much harder rock than bands like Linkin Park. For example.....
Metallica and Linkin Park. They are completely different, right? That is why a lot of metal fans hate Nu metal. I don't think it's the name or anything, just that they are completely different sub genres of rock.
btw, I like both of them, i think it's just a matter of opinion.

I totally agree with you, you can say that about any kind of music...
And I admit i don't know enough about Metal sub-types...
But in my opinion, LP is definitively not Metal, so I don't why it's so disturbing that metal fans don't like so-called Nu metal...
They didn't play that fast, that tecnichal, it was always quite melodic (and I mean melodic as we can understand that in a pop way, I use to listen punk, and for me it's melodic, but really not in the same way...i'm sorry for my language, I hardly translate my thoughts in english...let say that LP in their first album is quite easy-listenning), and there's a lot of rap/crap in it...

Well, you could say that nu-metal is a form of music with metal elements, pop elements, rock elements etc etc so it's a fusion style. They do have that fast and technical feel, for example, From the Inside, though it does have that melodic theme in it sometimes.
key word, DID! There more pop then nu-metal now a days, so it's not even worth talking about them in this conversation.
Well, did still signifys they once used it, and did is better than never, and it is worth bringing them up based on that fact.
I'm a heavy Metallica & Pantera fan and I still listen to Disturbed and S.O.A.D.. Although to me the styles sound completely different, but I would choose Metal over Nu-Metal any day.
Personally, I like metal, but not too much metal, or my head hurts. So nu-metal is just right...not too much metal, not too much rap, not too much pop. Just right.
so really its down to them bieng different genres of music then? rather than it having a similar name with a different sound? sorta like most people who listen to pop tend to hate rock
