I was gone all last week on a vacation to Tombstone arizona. Many of you have probably seen the movie (Val kilmer, kurt russel, go rent it if you havent its a great movie) Anyways, i took plenty tours and read enough books. In the 1800s prostitution became a great buisness moneywise, in almost every city. It was perfectly legal than, and required a buiness license to continue the only womans oldest profession. What im asking though, is it right? Its legal in nevada, maybe some other places in the U.S. It was a successful buisness because of all the mining cities, 1 woman for every 100 men in most boomtowns, and many men were left sexual dry. Prostitutes were a way for men to complete these needs.
Should it be legal? Why or why not? Look at it from a religous view if you want, though i know all you christians (including mysef) already know the answer. But in this century should it be legal?
Prostitution is the result of capitalism, private versions of this should be banned immediately! Government regulated prostitution should do the trick! Think about that money you save when your income taxes go down because the government gets enough money off prostitution!
It may be a business based on capitalistic ideals, but it isn't the result of capitalism. If the U.S. was socialist or communist there would still be prostitution, but it would work differently.
Hmmmm I don't think there is a pool of ways of prostitutuion lol. To me, prostitution is only alive for the drunks and lowlifes who can't hold a job and need a pack of smokes. Sure there are a small percent of others who do it for other reasons....I guess more reasonable reasons.

Speaking economically though. VoteSocialist claims that it was derived from capitalism, simply because the system of pimps and prostitutes is capitalistic business. It doesn't matter what economic system a country has in place, prostitution would still be here. Just under different economics.
I think its derived from capitalism or a variation of that economic system because it's a new way of making profit in big cities where there is no work for people that didn't go to high school for very long or for people that just love their profession. Either way, I don't think it can be denied that capitalism will produce the ability for pimps to make profited off prostitutes.
I say the prostitute has to be on birth control and a condom must be used. If that's the case then YES it should be legal. Why not? People are going to do it no matter what you minus well make it legal so regulations can be made.

In a capitalist state, the rights of the private buisness are protected by the rule of law through limited framework of the government.
Seeing as prostitution is illegal however, it doesn't fit into that model. And as for it about making profit... that's like saying drinking water is caused by people being thirsty. The reason why people get jobs & try to make money is to better their own situation - regardless of the economic system. You put hard work & time in, you get money/goods/services out. If people didn't profit from having a job, there wouldn't be a point to having a job.
Similarly, you can't blame 'communism' and the collapse of the Soviet Union for the slave trade of poor eastern european women that get thrown into prostitution through human trafficking.
