I was gone all last week on a vacation to Tombstone arizona. Many of you have probably seen the movie (Val kilmer, kurt russel, go rent it if you havent its a great movie) Anyways, i took plenty tours and read enough books. In the 1800s prostitution became a great buisness moneywise, in almost every city. It was perfectly legal than, and required a buiness license to continue the only womans oldest profession. What im asking though, is it right? Its legal in nevada, maybe some other places in the U.S. It was a successful buisness because of all the mining cities, 1 woman for every 100 men in most boomtowns, and many men were left sexual dry. Prostitutes were a way for men to complete these needs.
Should it be legal? Why or why not? Look at it from a religous view if you want, though i know all you christians (including mysef) already know the answer. But in this century should it be legal?
there are no pluses to prostitution thats why its illegal. like smoking soon will be.
Um a plus to legal prostitution would be increases tax revenue. You take money off of the black market and underhanded dealings and give the government a way to tax it.
Making smoking illegal is stupid. What is next if it is made illegal? Soft Drinks? Fast Food? Candy? Junk Food? Internet? TV?

As for prostitution, this is what i dont get, like someone said a while back, if you make it legal std's will go down by alot(witch is true since u prob need too be tested). its also a job that people can do no prob, dosent hurt the economy, offers jobs and lastly...sex is legal, selling is legal, so why isnt selling sex legal?

Well I'll say this prostitution should be legal if they make a liscense for it... This way it might stop rape and such and for the people that can't find a job they need to feed themselves ect...
Anyway, I think it should be legal. Increases tax revenue, would reduce STDs, would probably reduce r*pe rates, and generally would reduce drug rates, crime rates and horniness rates - and I think America needs all of that.
I agree with alt. Prostitution should be legal because if it wasn't r*pe rates would go up, It's like making pornography illegal. But it should only be legal in a liscensed brothel with all the woman checked regulary for STDs ect.

Some persons pay more money to have sex without using a condom. So one person with a STD has sex with a prostitute, the prostitute now probably has a STD too, the prostitute has sex with more men and the dieses gets transmitted to some of them.
