i totally agree!
Furthemore, if you read The Silmarillon, it's amazing how deep he's gone in the background of middleearth...
I mean there's appendices with languages (he created 8), and he explains (in fact his son writted it, after Tolkien's manuscripts) the relation, for exemple, between Rohan language and Numenorean (and Gondorian by extension...), and you see how the second one influenced the first one, with words in Rohan derivated from Numenorean..
It's just blowing!
Everything get sense, every place finds its history!
Tolkien is indeed one of the greatest author of our century!

Indeed. Creating languages out of thin air, and then writing poems in then takes skill. Alot of it. *bows*

I stop you, he didn't really created it ffrom nothing.
You have to remember that Tolkien was, before an author, a linguist, teacher at the prestigious university of Oxford, and he studied more precisely medieval anglo-saxon...
The Quenya, Sindarin andf others languages he created were adaptation from this language, and from finnish, swedish, etc...

Percy Jackson and Olympians is my fav.

Percy Jackson books are awesome.

-There are only 300-400 pages a book, not to long
-There are only 5 books in the series, not to long'
-They are very action-packed and help you with Greek mythology

My favourite series in no particular order are Artemis Fowl, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Ender's Game, Harry Potter, and the Books of Ember.

The best series of books....hmmm.... I would have to say that it is either the Harry Potter series or the Alex Rider series.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was probably the best book I've ever read, but all of the Alex Rider books were very good, too.

Artemis Fowl series kicks major a**.

So does Lord of the Rings. . . .

The Septimus Heap series isn't bad either.

I also like the Dune series.

The Ember books are great also. I like Eoin Colfer, just not the Artemis Fowl series. My favorite book of his is the Wish List. It is a great book

I'm currently reading the Demonata by Darren Shan
Pretty good series so far, always throws in something unexpected.

Either Harry Potter or The Edge Chronicles for me. They're both really good and have a lot of books in them, so it will last awhile.

Oh, the Edge Chronicles is awesome!

Rook is the best of them, though. It's cool how the author tells three stories in different time periods, but in the same world. Cool how it shows the changes of the Edge over time.
