we should allow the debate in court to determine whether or not global warming funding continues

What do we do in the meantime? The court battle will certainly take while.

About time. Global warming might be real, but I think it will take a long time for any effects to even be noticed int he temperature. My pool has been closed for the vast majority of July because it's too cold to go swimming. I guess that's why it's called climate change now. Anyway, at least get a debate about it, finally!

"My favorite channel, aside from the Fox News channel"

Why'd he have to go and say that? I was taking him seriously.

Anyway, I'm not going to start debating for or against global warming. However, I will say that suing Al Gore isn't going to do a thing to calm people down about it. Also, there's no need to sue him just to get a debate. It sounds to me like they're just trying to get a couple million dollars, and the debate they might get out of it will be a side note. Load of crap if you ask me.

30,000 scientists want to waste court time? even if they got a million the distribution would make like 300$ a person

They're all from the same organization right? It would probably go into advertising for that.

i wouldn't know... it just said 30,000 " they have signed to debunk global warming." i'd guess they aren't if they're signing up

I'm not sure what sort of damages they can recover. Even if GW was fake, Gore has the right to say what he wants.

There must be some organization behind this all though. And that's where I'm guessing the money would go if they win.

Like I said before though, there's no point in suing Al Gore for...global warming. It's not going to help anything. He'll keep talking about it, and the people who believe that it's going to effect us are still going to believe that.

Exactly what I think green. Most people are not very open minded unfortunatly and agree with one thing and dont let the other side in or go with the crowd either way we are not getting rid of the whole GW idea anytime soon no matter what

*facepalm*

this is a financial suit as a result of them believing global warming is false

looks like i'll have to repeat myself:

an analogy: you get people convinced all life on earth will die soon because of dehydration and show "scientific" results how the earth is slowly having a drought. you get it so convinced that governments agree and use millions of dollars just to prevent/slow this down. then a group of people come up with "other" results and claim the first person was lying. it becomes 2 groups with no side really knowing who is true. that is why they are pushing for a debate in court. whichever side presents the strongest case wins. from the video i see al gore has been avoiding a debate far too long.

how would they redirect funds to those without really knowing if the things they invested for global warming paid off?

we should allow the debate in court to determine whether or not global warming funding continues

tbh i don't really care if anyone switches beliefs

And so getting a couple million of his hundred million+ is going to help?

I understand that they're trying to stop the government to stop spending, but his personal funds aren't what's doing it.

do you have to think everything is for personal gain?
