Now you're probably opening this thinking "oh great another rant on religion", well you're right. But please keep reading on because what I have to say is important and applies to all beliefs, even if you don't have one.
Many religions now believe the world is going to end, soon. Basically they believe this because of "signs" and their precious magic books. Well the scary thing is the world could end soon, and religion could actually be its cause. The fact is, for the world to live on religion must die. Faith is nothing to brag about it, and people who accept faith, or preach it are just intellectual slaveholders. Religion has caused so much craziness and destruction and I think 9/11 is a great example, however I won't get into it much because of everything else I have to say.
Now, why is religion so powerful? Because it allows people who DON'T have the answer to what happens when we die to think they do. If you're a christian or any other religion you may think it's great to say "PLEASE GOD I'M WILLING! I'LL DO ANYTHING YOU ASK OF ME!" Well guess what, there are no gods talking to us so that void is filled in by corrupt and often hostile people.
This is why anti-religious rationalists must come out of the freakin closet and let themselves be heard. And for those of you who only consider yourselves "a little religious", is the safe feeling of believing in a religion worth the pain and destruction it causes? If you belonged to a social group that wasn't a religion that involved so much bigotry, homophobia, violence, and ignorance as religions you would quit the club and protest against it. And if the end of the world comes because of nuclear arms led by religious nut jobs... just remember what the true problem was. We found a way to end lives on a mass scale before we stopped wishing for it.
God has already done everything necessary to enable a loving relationship between us and himself
Its hard to have a long distance relationship when some one doesn't have mailbox or a computer... I personally like to talk to people who respond back at me.
So if I pray God will accept me into Paradise, where the band Nirvana will play songs for me? Sounds fun.
(Smells Like Teen Spirit plays in the background.) I'm cool with that.

Lol But I think he means God (if he exists) isn't going to keep popping down and performing miracles because at this point everyone has a chance of forming a relationship with him. I know not everyone will agree with that statement, but I think everyone has some chance of forming some connection, even if not directly, but just through doing good works and deeds.
Maybe I phased it wrong, but generally relationships involve talking and communication. I think the correct word will be "Having a strong faith/connection with Jesus Christ our Lord" I just think the word "relationship" doesn't fits this.

Oh, I see what you mean.
I actually had a little theory about why God doesn't interfere (of course I know another theory is that he doesn't exist). But since we have free will, I thought we would have teh free will to make our reality; to define our own logic and for the world to act upon it. For instance, until somebody has a scientific explanation for lightening, God just made it happen. Until we had the laws of matter, God would create and destroy it for us. AKA, until we understand, God takes care of us. In this way we would evolve reality-wise and be able to take care of and control ourselves and this planet, but only to the extent that we can understand it. Hopefully I explaned that well.
I think I might understand. Its like God doing stuff for us in till we are able to do it ourselves/understand why it happens correct?
Yeah, exactly. Of course, I'm sure someone's had a theory like that before, but I never heard it myself. Just a little thought-provoker. Also, I feel nit-picky tonight, so I must correct my typos.
Ok everyone here's a clarification of my beliefs for you all incase you were wondering...
1.) I don't hate people in religion, I just hate religion because it's dangerous and could be very well used as a powerful weapon and propaganda technique.
2.) I've recently discovered that yes, I AM AN AGNOSTIC. But that doesn't mean if I thought God was talking to me I would convert to a Christian... I would go to a therapist :P I think logically a God or something like that must have had some part in creating the universe. I DON'T BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE MESSIAH. He's a great philosopher, sort of like Socrates and probably the best role-model ever.
3.) I know religion preaches about helping the weak and has some great charities... however you could do that WITHOUT religion. Who said you need religion to tell you what's right and wrong and to tell you to donate time and money to charity... shouldn't we already know that that's something worth doing even if we're not going to get into a place of no sin and eternal happiness?
Basically, yes people should be free to choose their religion but religion also contradicts freedoms. They tell you what to do and how you're supposed to live and that in my opinion is not right.
