I'm gonna log off after this and answer any grievances regarding my post tomorrow, anyways..

Its come too the attention of many and in terms me, that police officers are starting too abuse their power, be violent towards docile people, tazering/beating people when its uncalled for and acting like if you don't obey them they will arrested for no reason other than that.

The most recent case of police brutality happened earlier today

scroll down a tad, the video is there

heres how this event went, a 55 year old grandfather was celebrating his new grandchildren baptism when the police arrived on a noise complaint, the police said they dint turn the music down(witch is unknown but a noise complaint is worth the police asking and maybe a ticket, not what they actually do). After that the police asked the grandfather for his identity, he showed it,and this with the fact that he was drunk in his own backyard (not a crime) they pulled out there tazers. well one after the other they tazered him too the point where 3 tazers were on him, after this the 25 year old mother of the kids ran too his support and was tazered for ''assaulting a police officer''(she was pregnant too).

The police clearly dint realize that a noise complaint is worth maybe staying around and chatting with the people too get the noise down then leaving and if necessary giving them a ticket under the offense of disturbing the peace.

''Every cop that uses his tazer in a situation were he is not under fire should be fired then tazered!''

hes some more videos of police brutality.you'll notice they do these things usually too old men and women.(just copy the links, i don't feel too url them all)

They teach them to be grumpy. HP school in NC actually teaches them to think they are better than everyone else it seems. But then again they get used as a revenue generator here so that probably makes them feel crappier than they should. Had a guy in a store that I worked at shoplifting once and when a customer saw him the crook pointed his finger at him and did the *bang bang* movement. Turned out the customer was an off duty local cop and he pulled out his badge then told the dillweed he was going to go downtown and have a little chat. Never saw the puke again but I liked how that cop handled it. Too bad more don't have that mentality.

Well, wouldn't you be grumpy too if you had to deal with excuses of why they didn't stop at that red light, or watch out for that child getting off the bus. lol I'd hate to be a cop. Almost no one has respect for them, and they have to run after deadbeats with questionable items in their pockets that they try to keep all secretive. Oh, and do cops eat doughnuts like they used to? aha

I think that's a generalization lol

The cops in real life are like the mods in AG. They don't like to do their job (except devoidless), but they gotta do it. Except cops actually get paid to do their job, but it can be a matter of life and death for them. The most that mods get around here is dying laughing at a troll who thinks he can screw up the forums. The most that cops get is dying trying to save hostages, or worse.

Point is, they hate doing their job, but they are noble doing so. Even if they want paid. Sometimes they go out of their "rules" to do their jobs, but sometimes that is necessary.

I wouldn't be so quick to make that statement. Some cops actually enjoy their jobs, they love the action and excitement. Hmm, and I bet they love carrying those "oh so precious" weapons. Who wouldn't?

Oh, and I liked your comparison between the Mods and cops. XD

I guess a comparison between different kinds of police is in order:

Patrolling police is probably a very dull job, especially when nothing is happening all through the day. That and those that monitor speed limits. At least the degree of caution isn't that high though.

The S.W.A.T. police are those that probably LOVE their job. You are guaranteed action, but also has a very high level of caution. you never know what's going to happen, and it's probably not going to end smelling like roses and mint...

I'd pick S.W.A.T. team. Or at least the secret service police :P

I'd be grumpy too if I was constantly stopping people for speeding and running red lights and ignoring stop signs and answering complaints about noise. Give them a break.

but mostly it is for a reason

There is never a reason to abuse power.

No, I think he meant that there's usually a reason why they use force, as opposed to abusing their power.

You shouldn't use the "r" word, even if you don't even spell it correctly.

There is never a reason to abuse power.

I agree. People in high positions may be tempted to do so, but it is not right.

Cops say that being tazered feels like giving birth, but I don't think many of them have had 3 jolts at once.

Police have every right to use whatever means necessary (except deadly force unless the officer's life is threatened) to catch someone who breaks the law, "Police brutality" is for the most part a myth.
In that first video, I stopped it where the cops were getting the shit beat out of them, that's when I would have pulled my gun out and started firing. In the second video, the officer though that she was running, so therefore that person is considered dangerous, and police draw guns because of it. It's also a crime to not pull over for a cop.
In the third video, they both were overreacting, so not only the cop is at fault. The cop was being retarded and he could have just looked in the cash register, and The cashier was being retarded as well and getting worked up over nothing. I find this video irrelevant to the argument at hand.
The fourth video was a little brutal. The guy was obviously drunk, and was resisting arrest, but the police went too far. The other videos didn't work for me for some reason.

Go out and watch the movie Changeling. It is a frightening true story. The police "find" a boy similar to a missing child and expect the mother to care for it. The boy is 3 inches shorter and is now circumcised. Some farce of a doctor says that his spine shrunk from stress and that the man he had been with did it for cleanliness. The woman makes a huge fuss in the papers and before she can go on the radio the police lock her away in a mental institution.
