Guns aren't bad. People who use guns in a negative manner are bad.

No really??!!?!?? The problem is keeping the guns from the people who use guns in a negative manner.

And if you shoot someone the person is bad, be it self defence or not.

self defence- it is legal and logical to kill a person for self-defence.

As long as money exists, that won't happen. The world revolves around money.

First lets look at the question...Are guns bad..No for hundreds of years guns have been used for hunting and protection...Second..Lets look at the people who own them..99% of all guns owned are in safe hands..Its that1% that is not regulated[registered]that are a danger to society. Illegally owned and ,unfortuneatly used, are the only bad guns.

LOL. I love the argument because all I have to say is:

Bob walks into your house, with sawn-off shotgun. Bob points sawn-off shotgun at you. You draw pistol, and point it at Bob. Bob shoots you, it was self defence. But because Bob was pointing the gun at your first that makes his act not self defence? Lol. Seems a bit flawed, huh?

He is pointing a sawn-off shotgun at you. Now what do you do? Do you defend yourself or do you give him to shoot you? Of course you shoot him.

You answer your own question rather than Elitemagical's. However, even if he shoots you first, his act won't be called self-defense due to the fact that he's in your house. But if you think of it logically, he's defending himself from you and your pistol.

So, in theory, Elitemagical is right, your theory has a severe flaw.

I love how we had this discussion in US/VA today... Second amendment rights are so amazing... Both me and my teacher are apart of the NRA and I'm so jealous because he has a rifle...

The question is do you need a gun?

Yes, actually... Its a necessity to protect your household... Once, and if, you get one...
