It's come to my attention that the community of Armor Games does not do well when it comes to trolls. That's why I suggest that before someone comes into the forums the first time, they should have to take a short quiz. Questions would include what is a troll/spammer/etc, how should you react to them, what not to do, and other things that would help reduce the impact of these people.
How would that help, exactly? I would think that actual trolls know what trolling is, but still do it. This is how they get fun out of annoying people.
Ignorance is key. Wait..wrong word. I meant Ignoring trolls. Hmmm how would I say that?
"Not being such a hot head when finding one" is best.
You guys don't get the point of it, the quiz isn't for the trolls, but for normal users. If everyone in the community knows how to identify a troll, and what to do in the case of one, trolls wouldn't get such a reaction.
Knowing how to identify a troll and handle them comes from experience, not from a quiz.
But don't you agree that it's going to help to have users who at least know what they're supposed to do? My brother has an account on here, and if he came into the forums and saw a troll he'd not know to ignore it. If people can only get in if they theoretically know how to deal with trolls, hopefully we won't get as many people who react so much.

When a forum is made, the creators want more members to be active in it. If there is going to be anything, there should be something on the help page telling how to handle trolls. Everyone is welcome to a forum, if a troll ventures in they get banned. If a member falls for the troll, another member will tell them how to handle them.
A quiz is a waste of time and will be more work than the benefits are worth.
...and then they make a new account, and do it again. If 420 doesn't get bored of trolling here, or the administration doesn't get rid of him, people are going to stop coming to AG.

He is a different case than the normal troll, he is also the only one in my time being here to keep coming back, and I assure you, a quiz would not have changed him. He would still have came back over and over.
There is one, obviously it hasn't helped much.
There is not an entire section to it, and in fact I just searched it and couldn't find it. So if you could link me to it, that would be nice.
well there's a thread about trolls. Just look in the tavern, in the stickies.
Anyway, I guess it's not the best solution, but it would be nice if the community didn't react so much. Maybe they could just do like you said, and have a help page that is easier to find, and has all the basic points on it.
Unfortunately, since this is AG, no matter how many ideas we might come up with, they're not going to be implemented.

What, no IP bans, where the person under that IP will not be able to participate on the site? You're telling me the staff and mods don't use that?
So, would this troll quiz be mandatory in order to be on the site? Again, the real trolls would just bluff their way through it and proceed as usual, while the new guys like me would be bummed that the first thing we see after registering is a notice about troll awareness.
That would get me thinking that the forums are a troll zone, and are unpleasant to look at when posting. I wouldn't be here if it was up.
To be honest, I don't think we should be focusing on how our members react to the problem, I think we should put our energy into solving the root of the issue; the trolls themselves.
It's not a totally bad idea, but it might turn away new members, as Freakenstein said.
