Opinion?

Mine is that you should at least be 11. I don't find them to be that bad. Just intense violence, suggestive themes, and swearing.

You disagree, because you took most of that sentence out and then quoted the rest, that just throws off what I was getting at there. Pair that up with Nudity, exaggerated mayhem, and old lady kicking, and it definitely is :-)

So all of the GTA series should be rated adult to you as opposed to Mature?

wtf? age 11???

So gta 4 wouldn't/isn't bad for 11 yr olds?

anyways, that being said, I think that 13 and up if you're mature enough. However most aren't mature enough until your 15, and in some cases 17+

so.......... I'll say 14.

hmm, probably contradicted myself in there... oh well.

15. 11 is a little to young. The blood could horrify them. And the language shouldn't be taught to them.

Though I'm just one person, I wasn't nay worse-for-wear wen I started playing M games full-force in 3rd & 4th grade.

Quite frankly, I've bled a lot and I know the people aren't real, so . . . I don't care.

11? you guys are sick, I have a neighbor (12) who plays halo and gears of war nonstop. The guy is sick, he always arrives playing he has a chainsaw in his hand while he curses nonstop like if he was killing everyone. Depends. for example, halo should be from 13, while gears of war and bioshock 16, depends on how gory it is. depends on maturity always, but they put in 17+ so they don't get sued.

Here is an interesting statement - do you agree or disagree with this, and why?

"The 14-year-old boy arguing that he has played violent video games for years and has not ever killed anybody is absolutely correct in rejecting the extreme ânecessary and sufficientâ position, as is the 45-year-old two-pack-a-day cigarette smoker who notes that he still does not have lung cancer. But both are wrong in inferring that their exposure to their respective risk factors (violent media, cigarettes) has not causally increased the likelihood that they and people around them will one day suffer the consequences of that risky behavior."

What ever age your parents would want you to be playing the rating M for is alright...

@Waynaul, well I want to point out that you are much more likely to get lung cancer (or any respiratory problem) from smoking, but yes playing those kinds of games would increase the chance of making you a violent person, even if it is a very minimal chance.

You are right alt, you are only one person, and you are very mature for your age.

I also want to point out that after all my years of playing video games I can tell that I would be a lot different if I hadn't ever touched a game. So the extent of how you are changed varies greatly. For me, it has effected how I precieve what I see; if I see an open field I usually imagine some kind of battle going on. Is that bad? Not really, I just got a healthy imagination, but then there are those that are effected more than me(usually the very impressionable kid); they see a person and imagine butchering them and then that leads to acting.

That is one of the worst M rated games ever. I am talking about the ones that only have suggestive themes and intense violence, like Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

I play Halo and GOW nonstop, and I'm pretty damn different from that kid. xD

It depends on the psychological soundness of the kid, too.
