I agree with the title, and the raptor in Drace's pictures doesn't lie in my opinion. However, I think the Christianity/Atheist is growing tiresome, considering I have contributed it lots myself. I think that Athiests should just except people's beliefs, Christians should go back to church, and everyone will be happy.
I <3 the phiosoraptor revolution!!!!!!!!!11111oneoneone
young'uns these days...think everthigns a revolution. I'LL TELL YOU about a revolution. The year is 1861, Abraham Lincoln had just....ummm, he uh...South Carolina and....then emancipation...procla-something...and...JESUS WAS BORN! And that my friends is the origin of Christmas
well drace sometimes it doesnt make sense because we dont know how god thinks
I just realized...there has been a lot of spam today by upstanding AG citizens...I don't know, it feels like thigns have changed since that whole Drace Yakooza NoName topic was made. This site has a different "feeling"
What I don't get is why the bible is the new testament + the old testament TOGETHER.
I mean c'mon, they are two books which contradict eachother!
One is all about "an eye for an eye" justice and the other is all about forgiveness.
Who will join us in a philosoraptor utopian dream????????????????
Eager souls, mystics and revolutionaries, may propose to refashion the world in accordance with their dreams; but evil reamains, and so long as it lurks in the secret places of the heart, philoraptor utopia is only the shadow of a dream.
Just a short list of some logistics and practicalities of the Arc.
1. The volume of the arc was 1.5 million cubic feet (about a 1/3 the size of the Albert Hall). 2. There were likely to be 3 levels: the bottom holding the animals, the middle holding provisions and the top housing humans birds and dogs (who would be pleased to "eat their own vomit" for the duration of the trip). The bottom layer would be kept completly dark because wild animals like the dark and would actively seek it out. 3. There are thought to be 32 millions species in the world ( both discovered and undiscovered) Even at the lowest total estimate of 5 million species (10 million on board) each animal would have 0.15 cubic feet of space each (great for a mouse not so good for a rhino). 4. At an average zoo there are 25 animals per keeper. On the ark there would be 1.25 million animals per person. 5. To feed each of these they would ahve had to feed 115 animals per second. 6. There are 3000 termite species but hte ark was made of wood. 7. At the start there would be 200,000 species of fly on board however (if left alone) by the end of the flood there would have been 190 trillion flies. 8. And lets not forget the many species of plant that would not survive a flood.
Unfortuneatly I have lost my book on the subject but the above points hopefully illustrate the point of the bibles stupidity.
Responding to the first post, a day is the time it takes for the earth to rotate. That time is a number of seconds, and that is how long a day is. Before the earth, couldn't a day have still been this same number of seconds? Also, I think that God's "day" and our "day" might be different. I think for God it would be an certain number of years, maybe millions or billions. But the way we as humans measure a day is simply by the setting and rising of the sun.
In response to the spammers, I agree with Lieutenut. F*** these spammers.
Logic? Logic? Pick up a science textbook and use it to explain to me why "lying/deceiving" is unacceptable in common society.
Because the average science would tell me that Lying/Deceiving to get your way = An advantageous way to manipulate and work with the environment around you, usually easy when the manipulated is a bit stupid. Until recent genetic hypothesis, explain to me why people even figured incest was bad?
Explain to me how you can look at God (Any god of any religion, I'm not Christian to begin with) -- But explain to me how you can look at him with a sense that he's just like you -- That he has confused himself with stupidity by not knowing what a day was, thinking he can see the future and the past, and thinking he's omnipresent.
Because you can't, An supernatural/ultimate/full of will sort of being can't be looked at a way of logic, Its unfeasible to try to fathom "God" as someone who knows and doesn't. Its kind of why the worlds "all mighty" and "God's will" are used so much in religious literature -- If God was some random human this would make sense. Asking a supreme deity how he knows something nonsense, Its like asking a giraffe to think like a human, walk upright on two legs and bang the females with a strong pelvic motion.
