1. More Ranks because it's too easy to gain rank when u played 500 games. I think that 17 ranks is enough for now. Make it harder to get to the higher ranks because there are players who have played over 800 games.
2. More Servers because the 2 servers get full on weekends. Problem is you need to make a cool name for it.
3. A Top Player List because I want to know who is the leader. I have an idea of how it should work. Base it on a new game type that I will explain below in number 7 and 9.
4. A Friends List because it would improve the games rating I think. The way this function works is u can make a new code like "/add username", then a request is sent to the player only if he is on that server, and the same chat room, then the other player needs to accept the request, so that they can be on their friends list, which can be a tab on the chat room list, this chat room is only made to show you all of your friends but the names are going to be color-coded. For instance, the friends that are online, not playing, in blue, the friends that are offline in red, friends that are in a chat room in green, and friends that are in a game waiting to be started in pink.
5. Find A Way To Block The Cheat Engine because I hate playing a game and losing because my opponent was hacking. I know this is very hard to stop but it ruins the game, and then you start saying that the player you lost to is a hacker and the hacker stats saying "you blame all your loses because the other player hacked" than no one believes you, so then your reputation is ruined.
6. Get Some Administrators because they can kick hackers, spammers, gossipers, nuisances, and people who are saying nasty stuff, but they need proof the player who is being called a hacker is a hacker.
7. Making One Versus One A Game Type because I want to find more and more strategies. This game type is for one versus one games only, and in order for this to count u can only play against other players.
8. Make The Vets Hall For Players Who Are In The Top 75% because I don't want amateurs listening to the pros talking about strategies. I know this one sounds dumb, but, look at it this way, I spent allot of time making my strategy, and this amateurs over hears to pros talking a he is now the best rank 3, all because of two pros were talking. I think everyone needs to find a strategy on there own.
Well, if colony 2 was to come out, I would be more than happy to put myself up for nomination with some mod work seeing as I am pretty fed up with all the spamming, hacking, and general abusive trolls.
..im posting this becuz im seeing alot of good new ideas, but no one is posting um here, so i want to leave this easily accessible to those who have them..
heres a new idea, its sort of an add on to my upgrade structure idea, a 3rd tier to that, 2nd lv but 3rd tier, in which units themselves become more upgradeable(of course this may not get a pass, but its an interesting idea, and could catapult colony into another dimension..) purchasing armour upgrades, weapon upgrades, speed upgrades, the map itself would have to be lengthened for this..... and of course that would require alot of resource... it would vary from gov to gov to accomodate wat they can afford.... and of course only a few units per gov would upgradeable on this 3rd tier structure.... work in progress.
this would be either very good or vewry bad case it would mean that you dont know how strong their unit is. saying normaly a hover beats a glad but if the glad is upgraded with the enemys unknown knolage this could be switched and would mess up what counters what......=this sounds kinda fun now xD
General gist is that A.) there should be the option to have 2v2 games not count so fewer legitimate players would play as guests (since they wouldn't have to use guest accounts to try strategies) and B.) we should have the option to exclude guests from joining games so guests would only be able to hack in games where people wouldn't mind (for instance a game that doesn't count).
These two together would make it easier to identify hackers, remove incentive for hacking, and also make players more responsible in general (glitching, leaving games, etc.).
an idea just came to me..... it came from something that i take advantage of everyday and didnt really notice, the "double unit click" which as we know or sub-consciencesly did without notice, is that when u double click a unit u select all of that kind. well my idea is the "total unit placement" which isnt a huge change but in high end matches it can make the difference, speeding up hardcore matches making them.... insane really, well wat it is, is once u double ur units triple clicking 1 given spot on the map sends those selected units to that selected spot.... it sounds like a lazy guys invention cause it is.... but that would increaes micro ability and games in general, i believe... "fire and forget" click and quickly move ur next line of units into placement...... speaking of which how about "chained movement/placement".... this might reallly take some of the fun out of colony but wat it is , is linking positions together, triple click a location having units to move there and linking it to another so after completing the 1st move they go into the second..... i.e. using snipers with this would be a fantastic example... hit and runs performed instantly, remotely.
well all of that and an idea another player gave me... which is an old one but a good one..... old with an innovation.... a second server(jetzul, beatrix revived) but the second one is entirely for guest accounts, leaving other users to a server of their own....
potential hack EXECUTIONER, with the actions of the anti hack squad in effect and this..... it really will be..
Have not played online for months or years... but still annoyed by the bugs with no fix.
-I can't speak in lobby because I have underscore in my user name. -Projectiles still lands on different position for the left and right side. Being on the left side has a big advantage while when on the right side you can exploit this bug to your advantage. (I talked about this bug since version 2. The effect of this bug is critical but it is still unfixed for all versions of Colony.) -Not to mention the resource glitch and unit glitch that kills the game.
Maybe I should just keep playing single player mode hard-hard with my commies and forget about the multi-player.
