Communism WOULD work, but it does have quite a few flaws in the simple design of its' system. 'Cept the flaws are catastrophic.
It takes perfect, non-lazy people to work. People who are not control freaks, or are greedy.
Capitalism feeds off of communism's flaws, by turning its' problems into benefits. It turns greed into power, and power into revolution. If revolution happens often enough, no one will stay in power long enough to KEEP themselves in power.
Revolution means the revolving of power in the above statement.
Devoidless! I haven't actually ever seen you active before. Did you go on hiatus or something? Anyway...communism... Definition for those who are confuzzled. THE DEFINITION OF COMMUNISM(according to Wikipedia)
Communism (from Latin: communis = "common" is a family of economic and political ideas and social movements related to the establishment of an egalitarian, classless and stateless society based on common ownership and control of the means of production and property in general, as well as the name given to such a society.[1][2][3] The term "Communism", when spelled with a capital letter C, refers to any government or political party which explicitly identifies itself as Communist, even if that party or government is committed to pro-capitalist policies like the modern Chinese Communist Party.
Alright. Now my personal opinion, pros and cons. PROS -Egalitarian sounds good to me. Fair, unbiased government, yes? Yes! CONS -Too much power to all, no? No! I know, I know, my pros and cons are currently pitiful. But hey! I'm not really up for a debate right now, but I also wanted to get out of Forum Games for a sec. P.S.- Devoidless...fairness ftw! *random headbang*
But it's democracy in its purest form, essentially - which, according to Winston Churchill, is 'the worst form of government, except for all the other ones.' :P
Democracy and republic are the only consistently successful types of government, really.
@thisisnotanalt, You forget quite a few types of government. For example, monarchy worked in England, France, Spain, etc. for hundreds of years. Oligarchy, aka power to the few, worked in Sparta for just as long. Communism worked in the Incan Empire, again for hundreds of years. So really, that was an ignorant statement.
Communism doesn't really work at all, you could say Stalin was just a random socialist dictator, but the man before him wanted eventual Marxism. Communism says the state will wither away, instead the opposite happened in Russia. In addition, Lenin lead his revolution whislt Russia was still in a semi-feudal state.
