It is a wonderful thing that Israel exists again. Israel has a proud history and is a valuable ally. Why can't we look for the good in things instead of always for the bad?
Because Israel is an imperial powerhouse that picks on a weaker people. Israel has no right to exist. What if a group of Americans moved into Israel, and declared it the 51st state? That's what Israel did to the Arabs. They stole the land that the Arabs had for thousands of years.

Americans took their land from the Indians. Bad example really.
I'm not really sure where I stand on this. Don't know an awful lot about it.
There are tens of thousands, if not, hundreds of thousands of ethnic groups. Should every single one have its own nation?
I would argue yes. I am somewhat pessimistic as to human nature and thus support self determination. Zionism was initiated due to Jews escaping persecution in Eastern Europe. The first aliya was very successful, with Jews and Arabs integrating very well with no problems. It's only been the relatively recent influx of intolerant Eastern European Jews that have caused the problem. I personally see no valid reason why the Jews and Arabs cannot get along.
each religion or nationality should have a country.
Good luck with that. Co-existence is key. By separating everyone, it creates hatred.

Maybe because when Israel was created, millions of Arabs were forced from there homes. Hundreds of thousands starved to death. And now they are in refugee camps, or trapped in Gaza or the West Bank where Israel has created terrible conditions for the Arabs.
Maybe it has to do with Israel's unjustified retaliation against terrorist actions. I do not support Palestinian terrorism. But when a single rocket is launched by a Palestinian, Israel feels it has the right to bomb several houses killing dozens of civilians. The 2006 Gaza war led to 117 civilian deaths over the kidnapping of one Israeli soldier. It's a completely unjustified response.

- every day for 8 years about 3 rockets falled at israel. each one killed around 2 men.
Israel feels it has the right to bomb several houses killing dozens of civilians.
It used the best technology to kill the minimum number of civilians.
over the kidnapping of one Israeli soldier.
far from only that.
It's a completely unjustified response.
More israilis died that palestnians, even if you count palestnian civilians.
They stole the land that the Arabs had for thousands of years.
I have never heard Palestinian side of the story in this conflict. It's always Israel I see on the TV. And I don't want to form an opinion based on one-sided stories.

Why would you kill civilians. Even if it's a mere retribution it's still wrong and barbaric.
