Is it just me or does it seem like there is less and less Mario around. Most of their new games involving Mario that they have come out with are not very exciting and the ones that are, nobody plays. They pretty much burnt out all Mario ideas so quickly that http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d3/Symbol_mario.svg/50px-Symbol_mario.svg.pngnow the once famous video game ikon is fading... Let me know your opinions on this.

Perhaps people don't have as high of a demand for Mario as they did 10 years ago. Maybe people are just getting a bit bored with him, and they want to try new things in games. After all, if you have every Mario game ever made, you're going to get pretty sick of him, aren't you?

Slightly... seeing as how the wii and such nintendo things are slowly dying because of the PS3 (gag) and the Xbox360... kids are too impressionable...

I think so... Mario galaxy might be that last Mario game... I FEEL LIKE CRYING!!! Shigeru Mayamutu (sorry i don't know how to type his name) was sad when they made the Mario Galaxy song...

I think it's inevitable that the old classics will fade away, but they wont be forgotten. Newer games have just taken us to a newer level of entertainment far from the groundbreaker's like Donkey Kong, Mario, Packman...

I personally think Mario is a long dead idea. So many games have been based on him its getting really old. Nintendo should really stop making Mario spin offs.

he's referring to GOOD Mario games, like 64 and Galaxy.

Meh, Mario is an excellent gaming icon, and has done his part. It would be awesome if Nintendo made "The Final" Mario game that ends it all, and kinda leaves hardcore fans with a content feeling. Same with Spyro and Jak and Ratchet. But not sonic. Sonic is Unholy. Sonic does not deserve such a richeious ritual. He rolls too much. JK

It is obvious that the characters of today, Kratos, Soap, Chief, Vault Kid, Marcus Fenix, Bill, Zoey, Louis, Francis, one day they will all say their goodbyes. Master Chief already has said his, but due to the power of Halo Multiplayer, Halo 3 AND Halo Reach will surely stand the test of time.

Who knows? Maybe someone else will come around and become the new Nintendo icon. Maybe that guy from Madworld! ^_^

You have an amzing point there... that would be a good idea. It would also close out the Mario industry with a lot of cash... I would even buy it.

No way not for me, Mario will live on, but its all about the classic Mario games for me, they are the best ones.

Most kids nowadays just forget about the classics and are mostly interested in Mario Vs.Sonic and the new Mario games, they forget what the old games did for the development of games today. I think in a way its like keeping up with the jones' with the latest games that are out at the moment, but hey, who am i too knock new games as a lot of them i quite like myself.

Its just nice to appreciate the old games aswell as the new!!!.

This is true, but you have to step back... they are still overdoin it which is my point, and since they are overdoing it and making so many, the old ideas and Mario himself is fadding.....
