Thought instead of continuing to thread jack the topic on abortion I would move this discussion into it's own thread.

The question is, are Humans animals?

Can we even be compared to animals?

If we are not animals then what are we?

An argument was put forth we are socially not animals. On this I have to ask what is it socially that makes us truly that different? We pursue things just for the sheer pleasure of it? we see this behavior in other animals so that can't be it.

Another argument was we are not animals because unlike animals we have souls. If this is the case then what is a soul? What proof is there that such a thing even exists?

Only in physical body we are animals,mentally we are not and we do have a spirit or soul

Well the video I posted would suggest otherwise on the mental aspect.

So far no one has answered these questions.
What is a soul? What proof is there that such a thing even exists?

That's not up to me to prove. I'm not the one making the claim.

If you making the claim that such a thing exists then it shouldn't be to hard to answer these questions.

A soul is not a visible part of the body, it can not be located in anyway, so the only proof against it is the lack of proof for it(as with most theories).

One cannot know what a soul is because it cannot ever be found.

there is no proof that such a thing exists. all studies or experiences that have proved they exist have not been correctly executed.

Too bad kids these days don't know art. Real trolling is an art. Most kid trolls these days are lifeless hacks who only know how to OTT. One-trick ponies like that don't last long.

You know what, before I rant about this, I'm going to create a new thread about it in the Tavern.

On-topic:

It's beyond the scope of science to demonstrate whether there is a soul or not. Science does have conceptual limitations.

I remember there being a "study" done on whether prayer affected mortality rates of myocardial ischaemia. It didn't. But the study was super dodgy anyway and as far as I can tell, utterly worthless.

Even if we DO have a soul... what the smeg IS a soul. Could we live without it. Dick cheyney seems to. j/k... anyhoo I believe we have something, call it a conciousness if you will. But this is proof of nothing.

Souls are overrated. My Middle School Science teacher lived without one, and he's like, 500 years old, so it must only cut down your life expectancy. XD

We are animals but one thing that is different about us is that we know of our own existence. A bumblebee does not know that it exists.
