I went to a sunday service at a church (i don't go very much) and for the hour the pastor talk about some finial war and the anti-christ coming in the next 10-20 years. He said nothing about why it would happen or gave any evidence. It felt like he was just saying turn or burn for the whole hour.

I think we all know that is not true because you like to not believe that is your goal to frustrate us and no mater what proof we can give you you wont believe it till you see it with you own 2 eyes

That's because you people never provide real evidence

Maybe this isn't all atheists, but most of them i know just like to prove religious people wrong and argue with people.
It gets very annoying if your not atheist too. -_-

Okay so your saying I'm basically closed mind. How about this a list of things that would convince me that your god existed.

A direct manifestation of the divine.
I'll believe in God if he shows up face to face to me in person and shows me he is real. Though he would have to do it in a way that I could be sure that it wasn't something else going on like a hallucination.

Knowledge in an ancient holy text that the people of the time couldn't possibly have put there without diving help.
For instance if we found a scroll of scriptures with E=MC2 in a language that exists now that didn't exist back then. This would be good proof. Also while not on it's own would this convince me but if this scripture had no errors or internal contradictions that would go a long way with me.

A consistent record of the answer of prayers to a specific deity.
For instance if a double blind study was done where a groups prayed to a certain God for an individual to recover and they did, and this was repeatable. Also it shouldn't be possible to pray to anything else and get the same consistent results.
Along with this would be if a person prayed for something that couldn't possibly occur otherwise. For instance if someone was to lose an arm and prayed they had there arm back and it grew back. This doesn't mean the person went to some doctor who invented some experimental limb growing method. It would also have to be shown there was no other explanation like the person having a strange mutation that allows him to regrow limbs.

Now This leads me to a question for those of you who believe in a God. What evidence could someone offer that would prove to you that the god you believe in did not exist?

Maybe a small percentage of us are like that but most of the time we are just trying to help you understand and be educated. Creationism goes against science by a whole lot. We have to live with all this religious bullshit everyday. Do you not think we get tired of it? Oh and we get criticized for not believing in God, so basically we should be the ones complaining.

Oh and don't think Christians don't do it. I told one person at school that I was atheist and now her whole youth group is giving me these cards encouraging me to go to church. I respectfully reject but the cards never stop coming...

Also there's a possibility for someone coming up with something equally convincing that I didn't think of in the above.

Ever heard of spelling words correctly? lol just kidding.

Yes, I have. It's not gonna happen so it's not one of my concerns.

Well, I'd like it if you'd stop because I, and everyone here, cling on strongly to our faiths.

It sometimes seem like an odd thing to do.
"Nono, that's not right. Here's how it is: THERE IS NO GOD!"
We cannot prove that there is a God, you cannot prove there is not (besides saying all the bible tells is fake, which for the majority is right, if it is taken literal.)
Isn't it somewhat of a lose/lose situation for both parts to keep fighting over both groups' ignorance and closemindedness?

Creationism goes against science by a whole lot.

Creationism in its purest, most religious essence is stupidity on bottle...

We have to live with all this religious bullshit everyday. Do you not think we get tired of it?

I know most calm Atheists are both annoyed and tired of getting the God card thrown in their face all the time. It is not a problem here, but I figure it must be annoying to Americans. Which is why some end up with rather aggressive tendencies, I guess.

Oh and we get criticized for not believing in God, so basically we should be the ones complaining.

Move to Denmark.

Oh and don't think Christians don't do it. I told one person at school that I was atheist and now her whole youth group is giving me these cards encouraging me to go to church. I respectfully reject but the cards never stop coming...

Oh dear Lord... The black sheep of Christianity (sometimes it seems there is nothing but black sheep, sadly). Tell them that the Bible says they should not try to spread the faith, as they are not priests.
Or ask them wonderingly if they really are Christians, since they clearly do not
considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

- Matt 7; 3
I guess it might shut them up.

Having faith does not equal being uneducated.

You can be a Christian scientist and study stuff like evolution. It's the fundamental Christians who screw things up, not the casual believers.

... Isn't this thread sorta off topic by now?
