Here is an interesting question, what if America was invaded by land, by another huge army. What I am saying is if both the east and west coast were invaded by millions of foot soldiers that would move across the entire country. Think of this if like a D-Day happened in America. So where would you go? What would you do? Would you fight or hide? Hey you never know if this could happen but America would probably have a nuke war before this happens.
btw i already Built Vault 101 and the CEO of vault-tec. THIS TIME Vault 101 has a G.E.C.K, so, in my vault with all the people that i let in, will be able to rebuild the world with the G.E.C.K
If the Chinese economy continues on its present course, the Chinese wont need the US to buy its goods. It will become an independently wealthy nation, much like the US was 1940-1980. They will begin pumping out aircraft carriers and satellite infrastructure within the next 25 yrs. If the US were to be invaded in the next 100 yrs, China would be the only likely culprit. The West coast would, for obvious reasons be the most vulnerable target. Our far Pacific bases would be first to go- South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Okinawa, Pearl. The Chinese' first priority in invading the US mainland would be avoiding US bases, which would be crawling with US personnel brought in from the Midwest/South/East coast. Thus they would likely land somewhere in Northern California/Southern Oregon, far away from American bases. Their first priority would be to gain a foothold- drive inland as far as possible as fast as possible to secure against a US counterattack. Priority number 2 for the Chinese would be to capture civilian airfields from which to launch Chinese aircraft to bomb advancing US forces. If the Chinese landing force made it ashore, secured their positions say, 100 miles inland, and captured airfields at lets say Redding Municipal, Rogue Valley Int'l, and Roseburg Regional, they could begin bombing strategic infrastructure- NORAD, Camp Pendleton, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Alameda Naval Complex, Edwards Air Force base, Beale Air Force base, etc. They would then need to formulate a plan to #1. Neutralize all hostile forces west of the Rockies, and #2. Begin the push toward vital Wyoming/Colorado/New Mexico passes for their midwest-plians campaign. Enough speculation for now.
The problem with such an invasion is that we have so many military bases on each coast so there is no broad area for an invasion force to land. The most likely scenario would actually be that a force is massed either in Canada or Mexico and a major assault is pushed forth from there.
In such an event we would have ample warning and time to mass our National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty military personnel here to counter any invasion force. Not to mention that we have numerous airbases on our soil to provide immediate air superiority.
In such an event I would take my wife, children, and my firearms to my wife's parents house and have them stay there. I would then report to the nearest National Guard armory. Being prior military service and the fact that I was with the National Guard here in Arizona for a year as well, I know many people and would try to get attached to a unit here to defend our country. If that could not be arranged then I would join up with a group with the other minutemen in my area and we would act as a scouting/raiding party for the military units.
But what if the threat was already in the country? Militant cells from a terrorist organization or country that amassed for an assault on key locations within the USA? You wouldn't particularly have much time to react because the threat would be at your door before you knew anything about it. Anyway, if you guys get invaded I won't come and help you - mainly because I have a mild visual impairment which apparently means I can't work for the military forces so.. erm... Yay?
Militant cells from a terrorist organization would have the opportunity to do quite a bit of damage, but they would not be able to fully invade or conquer the US. And if they are anywhere near me then whatever god they pray to help them, because I'm a proud member of the NRA and a Minuteman.
Aww, look at the Americans acting all ruff'n'tuff. Anyway, if a terrorist organization brought down certain key locations then that would leave America weakened - maybe enough for other countries to start attacking from the land and air.

You have to consider the sheer size of America, and the number of installations that would have to be taken out before such an invasion would have any chance of success. We have military installations in nearly every state, and not to mention the number of citizens who are armed and trained with firearms.
We are a nation with a vast population of hunters and survivalists, and we have a great amount of territory. To even consider an invasion would require a massive assault on our military infrastructure, as well as airports of any size, and our police and civilian buildings which house armaments. All of these would play a major role in resisting any attempts at invasion, and that's if you can manage to amass a large enough ground force near us in the first place.
