I am curious to know what religion do you follow or if your Athiest, Agnostic.
Please I don't want people to flame each other about their religion, or people saying that they are (whatever religion) because their dad/mom/family was.
Personaly I am an Athiest and I do not believe in god.
I think of myself as an Existentialist rather than just an Atheist. Though there isn't much of a difference...
existentialism: A philosophy that emphasizes the uniqueness and isolation of the individual experience in a hostile or indifferent universe, regards human existence as unexplainable, and stresses freedom of choice and responsibility for the consequences of one's acts.
Considering the only real qualifier to be an atheist is not having a belief in a god I don't see why these two couldn't co-exist.
As for myself I'm an atheist, and if you didn't know that by now you haven't been paying very close attention to this section of the forum.
I follow Catholicism, but I'm deciding whether or not to change religion. I don't want to make a mistake, so I'm studying this subject through Catholic eyes AND later Atheist eyes. I shouldn't post here, though, because as Alpha said, this is a dupe thread.

I just said I was more than just an Atheist. "Atheist" is a very general term; it even applies to some religions, such as Scientology and Buddhism. It also applies to Existentialism, which is what I follow.

Personaly I don't believe that Buddism is a religion but rather a belief or a way of life.
To be honest Ernie, I really don't think Scientology is a real religion. I mean, it was made from a science fiction novel. Unfortunately, there are people that actually believe it, Tom Cruise for example, and I try to remain silent about that sort of thing...stifled between laughs and facepalms.
Buddhism....not so much a religion either, even though it is one. I think of it more a philosophy. You follow Buddha's teachings and live from them, but worshiped as a god is another story.
