The city of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina never slept. Nor did it choose not to. The urban metropolis that was located on the very edge of lake Eerie had over 6 million people that called the city home. Among those residents were people employed by one of the United State's largest coorporation: Dynavax Institue of Technological Research or DITR.

Dynavax had many research fields, one of their most sucsessful was their biological and weapon testing. But they had also influenced many other areas of research such as alternate energy and fuel efficent cars. One of their main headquarters for their biological and human genetic mutation research was in Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina. Dynavax literally founded the city themselves and built the city upon their needs. They gave jobs to nearly 3/5 of the population, whether it was an office job, blue collar worker, scientist or even one of the many private contrators that they employed.

It was 2019 and the United States was finally coming out of a depression that had crippled the country's econmic state. Dynavax was the forerunner of the US's upswing, by opening countless nationwide projects on roads, factories and medical research. During this time they also poured money into the biological research headquarters of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina.

Ridleybank was built by Dynavax both from the ground up and literally the ground down. They built massive tunnel complexes that streched nearly 500 feet below ground and was as wide as the city itself. Tunnel systems riddled the earth beneath Ridleybank, creating a insitution that couldn't be monitored. They opened up numerous projects within this complex, one of which was the 'Pro Bono' project. 'Pro Bono', which was Latin for "for the public good", was to create biological super soldiers by editing human genetics to make soldiers more stronger, perceptionally aware, combat intellegent, and having extreme endurance. As the 'Pro Bono' project continued, those that were in the project started getting Smallpox-like symptoms. Some of which died after several weeks of suffering from what appeared to be Smallpox. Smallpox, which had been considered a 'dead' disease, had thought to have been released into the underground complex. Almost the entire underground area of Dynavax's secret establishment was shut down. After a week of air testing of almost every inch, it was reopened. The scientists and private contractors that were working on the 'Pro Bono' project and had became sick, had died of Smallpox-like problems.

Several weeks after that Dynavax quietly was losing a battle. Underground, somehow, both scientists and private contractors had become enraged. They bit, slashed, and clawed at anyone who wasn't angered. They didn't respond to any forms of communication and when the time came, bullets seemed to not hinder them. Only until they were either torn apart by bullets or shot in the head, did they stop. Slowly, their numbers multiplied. And slowly, Dynavax realized the connection to the 'Pro Bono' inncicent and the enraged, powerful, and quick former employees. People that were bitten or people that were put into contact with these insane people displayed similar smallpox-like symptoms and eventually died. After they made the connection that those that got the disease eventually died and came back to life, it was already to late...

The undead had reached the surface...

Welcome to a zombie RP, but this isn't your average one. This is more in-depth than anyone elseâs out there. I will be using your traits that your character displays. These traits are determined by your skill level in a certain skill. And your skill level is raised by simply surviving and using tools that are given to you.

You will be playing the role of a survivor stuck in Ridleybank, Pennsylvania. It has been 7 weeks since the 'Pro Bono', or PB for short, hit the streets. The state of the city is dire, Dynavax has ordered the government to set up quarantine in a perimeter around the city, and still has private contractors in the city that most of the time shoot on sight at anyone, living or dead. What you do, where you start, and how you survive is simply up to you. I'll provide you with your situation, your options (which can be altered as long as I approve of it) and what you do will determine whether you live...or become a shambling zombie.

Un-life isn't the end of the road however. Later in the game if you die, playing as a zombie will become an option if you fall ill.

Now let's continue on your character:

This is the character sheet, you will need to fill it out according to the information I will give you below. If you fill it out wrong, I'll as you to do it again, it's that simple:

Name:
Age: (Optional)
Description: (Optional)
Bio: (Optional)

Profession Skills:
Purchased Skills:
Profession Items:
Purchased Items:
Starting Location:

Now on to Professions:

Everyone in Ridleybank had a profession. Whether you were a small-time scientist for Dynavax, an office worker, a blue collar worker, or even being homeless, you had a profession. This is a list of chooseable professions. Choose wisely, you will gain both necessary skills and items from the profession you pick.

LOCATIONS: Can start in Dynavax restricted zones.

______
Dynavax Private Contractor Grunt: Dynavax employed just as many mercenaries as scientists. They were equipped well, wielding the best weapons of the era. However many lower level private contractors, A.K.A Grunts, were no longer in the loop of Dynavax operations in the Ridleybank area. Because of that, they are low on ammunition. They have basic firearm skills, Dynavax building recognition, and basic endurance.
Skills: Dynavax Employment, Basic Firearms, Basic Endurance

______

Military Professions

The National Guardsmen: One of the many National Guardsmen stationed either in one of Ridleybankâs two forts or in the surrounding area when the outbreak hit. They were the first to arrive when the reported rioting occurred. Only when the dead starting rising and the city descended into hell did the brave homeland protectors of the United States realize they were in the middle of the shit they signed up for. Although many died in the first few weeks, many still strive to survive. Although Fort Dunwichâs, one of the two National Guard forts in the city, courtyard fell three days before the 7 week mark, many National Guardsmen and civilians are held up in the fortâs armory. The other National Guard fort, Fort Dalton, on the other hand, remains in human control, being the major United States army outpost in the city. Even still, many other soldiers are isolated in the city, with most of the time little aid.

National Guardsman Private: Your basic National Guardsman. Equipped with a H&K G36 assault rifle and their wits, they were once the shining hope of the city. Now, they are scattered and helpless. Most are posted in one of the two forts of the city, while some are stuck navigating the city. They have basic firearm skills, basic rifle skills, basic endurance, but suffer from âF-Unluckyâ when talking about their luck of the Ridleybank campaign.

Skills: Basic Firearm Training, Basic Rifle Training, Basic Endurance, F-Unlucky (Loss of Luck)

Items: G36 Assault Rifle (Fully Loaded: 30), x2 5.56x45mm NATO clips, Basic Combat Armor, Combat Helmet, Military Radio (picks up both regular and military restricted frequencies), x1 Random Grenade (Frag, Flashbang, Or Smoke)

Special: RANKABLE. If you find or start in a National Guard safezone, such as the forts or some on the few holdups around the city, you can gain skills and items you couldnât gain otherwise.
LOCATIONS: You can start in Fort Dunwich or Fort Dalton.
______

National Guardsman Medic: Like the National Guard Private, the everyday medic has had similar problems with Ridleybank. Although they have had more close up experience with the undead, some even attempting to save their falling comrades only to have them die and turn on them. Because of this they also know more about the disease than most. They have basic medical training, as well as basic firearm training. They do not have as much firepower as regular soldiers, only wielding a 9mm pistol if they have to face combat.

Skills: Basic Firearm Training, Basic Medical Training, Basic Disease Awareness, F-Unlucky

Items: 9mm Beretta 92 (Fully Loaded: 15), x2 9mm pistol clips, Basic Combat Armor, x4 Medical Kit, Military Radio

Special: RANKABLE. If you find or start in a National Guard safezone, such as the forts or some on the few holdups around the city, you can gain skills and items you couldnât gain otherwise.
LOCATIONS: You can start in Fort Dunwich or Fort Dalton.

______

Regular Professions
This includes other everyday jobs of the people of Ridleybank.

They were called to the scenes of what appeared to be domestic abuse, assault, and murders. Eventually when the rioting broke out, they took the brunt of the losses, unable to keep the city under control. Now they are trapped behind barricaded doors, fearing what lurks outside.

Skills: Basic Shotgun Training, Basic Pistol Training, Basic Command (The ability to order NPC humans to do your bidding)

Items: 9mm Berretta 92 (Fully Loaded: 15), x2 9mm Pistol Clips, Basic Flak Jacket, Radio (Picks up normal channels)

Scattered they are acting alone on their survival.

Skills: Basic Melee Skills, Basic Blunt Weapon Skills, Basic Endurance

Items: Police Badge, Police Baton, Anti-Riot Gear (Armor), Riot Shield, Riot Helmet, A Radio,

______

Prison Guard: The unsung heroes of the Ridleybank outbreak, the Prison Guards of the Patton Correctional Facility, had to fight a war on two sides. When the undead started assaulting the prison, they had to keep the dangerous convicts that were still in the jail in line. They managed to keep this fight for 5 weeks into the infection, only when someone from the outside blew a hole in the wall with a bomb, did prisoners escape and zombies invade the prison. They carry M16A1 rifles, and the skills gained in their 5 week struggle.

Skills: Basic Acrobatics, Basic Free Running, Basic Melee Skills, Basic Endurance

Items: A randomly improvised weapon, a random food item, an extra $30

Skills: Medical Training, Basic Disease Knowledge

Items: x10 Medical Kits, A randomly improvised weapon.

_______________________________

Skills

The skill level function works like this:
When you perform an action successfully (or sometimes unsuccessfully) in the field you will gain skill points in the appropriate skill. This is how they level up.
Most Skills:
Not Listed = 0-14 Skill Points
Basic = 15â"44 Skill Points
Regular= 45-99 Skill Points
Advanced = 100-199 Skill Points
Master = 200+ Skill Points

So if you have Basic Pistol Training as a starting skill that means you have 15 skill points already in Pistol Training. In order to level it up to Regular Pistol Training you would need to earn 29 skill points.

Now the 2 generalized Skills: Firearm Training, Melee Skills work basically the same. Anything you do that aids any of the general skill will give you skill points. They also determine if you are successful in that field, but specialized skills determine this more. Because of this it takes about two times as more skill points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-29
Basic= 30-79
Regular= 80-149
Advanced= 149-289
Master= 400+

The most generalized skill: Survival, is ranked up by doing anything that aids you in the effort to stave off the undead and live to see another day. It affects everything you do and because of this, it takes even more points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-49
Basic=50-139
Regular=140-279
Advanced=280-579
Master=1000+

________
Now the concept of skills is dealt with. The following are skills you can purchase. NOTE: You can only get 2 of the following skills. They will give 15 skill points into the skill that you choose and WILL stack with any profession skills you get.
So if you already have basic bladed weapon skill then you will still have basic bladed weapon but with an extra 15 skill points. So Basic Bladed Weapon Skills (30/44) instead of (15/44).

Survival Skills
Firearm Skills
Melee Weapon Skills
Pistol Training
Rifle Training
Shotgun Training
SMG Training
Blunt Weapon Skills
Bladed Weapon Skills
Lock picking Skills
Hotwiring Skills
Free Running
Acrobatics
Endurance
Intelligence
Disease Awareness
Command
Stealth

Although there may be more skills later in the game, this is all you can choose from. You can choose two of the same skill if you like.

______

Purchasable Items

Last but not least are purchasable items. Each person is given $30 (or more if your profession allows) to spend ONLY in the beginning. You can choose not to spend your money and keep it, perhaps giving you a chance to use it in the game, but buying items is probably more useful than worthless paper.

x2 Medical Kits: $15
x1 Pistol Clip (Ammo Type Of Your Choosing): $10
x1 SMG Clip (Same as above): $15
x1 Rifle Clip (â â): $20
x1 Flare Gun (Shot into the sky or at something, can cause fires): $15
x1 Gasoline Can (Either used directly to set something alight, or kept to use for a car, or even to make Molotov cocktails): $15
x1 Frag, Smoke, or Flashbang Grenade: $20
x1 Radio: $15
x1 GPS Unit: $20
Combat Armor: $25
Combat Helmet: $10
Binoculars: $5
Surgical Mask (Reduces Dust Irritation): $5
Gas Mask (Eliminates Dust Irritation): $10
x1 Cocaine (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Can Cause Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $20
x1 Heroin (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Weaker Than Cocaine, Less Chance Of Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $15
x1 Weed (Gives Boost To Health, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $10
Random Food Item (Depending On Item Gives Boost To Stamina and/or Health): $5
âI <3 Ridleybank T-Shirtâ: Free!

______

Starting Locations

I wonât put you in a random spot of the city, instead giving you the chance to decide where you want to start. Either in the congested downtown area or the less populated suburb area, the choice is up to you. Know that some areas are only chooseable for some professions:

Mall: Average survivor population, high lootable areas, high zombie concentrations.
Strip Mall: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, low zombie population.
Hospital: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, high zombie populations.
The Suburbs: Average survivor population, low lootable areas, average zombie population
Downtown District: Average survivor population, average lootable areas, high zombie population
Police Station: Average survivor population, high lootable areas (usually guarded by police officers), high zombie population

???: Unknown survivor population, unknown lootable areas, unknown zombie population. Randomly spawns character in the city. Chance of UNIQUE starting point.

______

That is about it. Itâs very long, but only because I am putting time and effort into this. People that arenât serious about doing this need not apply. Fill out this character sheet below (or above) and try to be correct when you do it. Then I will make a character sheet that you will post everytime you make a decision.

You close the medical kit and pick it up. Although it appears to be slightly empty, it can still be useful in the future. You then walk towards the doorway the woman ran through, and advance into a small hallway that appears to lead into the actual mall area. You notice the blood trail leading to an open door that leads into what seems to be the food court part ofthe mall.

Through that open door, you also grimly realize, you see the woman you scared earlier, lying facedown in a rapidly building pool of blood. The cause of her death, a number of bullet holes in her back and left side, was undoubtly from a gunman or gunmen in the area. Also, this explains who killed the man proped against the wall behind you. You move towards the doorway and stop. You can't see much from your position but you can see a wooden bench near the door and a few feet beyond that a relatively tall stone planter with a single skinny tree. Beyond the stone planter is the woman lying out in the open and beyond her is a group of tables and chairs scattered with debris lying about. Past the scattered chairs and tables is a doorway that leads to what appears to be another matienence hallway. By your feet are a few concrete stones chipped off of the wall next to you. Not knowing how many gunman may be out there you...

A. Attempt to peer out the doorway to see more of the food court area and perhaps the attackers.

B. Dive to the bench and get into an attacking position

C. Staying low, sprint past the bench using it as a source of cover and get to the stone planter that is a few feet further.

D. Sprint past the dead woman, and run to the matinece door that she was trying to get to.

E. Pick up a concrete stone and chuck it into the room, seeing if the attackers will investigate.

F. Wait a moment and see if the attackers move forward.

You turn around and start running in the direction of the tall mysterious building. A few moments later, your eardrums pound with agony as the truck behind you explodes. You are thrown from your feet and momentarily fly through the air. This hangtime, however, is short lived as you come crashing to the ground. Your helmet absorbs most of the energy of the impact on the hard pavement, as it bounces off your head and rolls away. For a second, you lie on the ground, fearing the worst. Eventually you stand up and dust yourself off. Fortunatly you don't seem to have broken any bones or worse...

Also, favorably, your combat armor abosrbed what appeared to be small pieces of shrapel that flew at you with deadly force. With a few scrapes and bruises you shake off the close encounter with death. Your optomism is short lived, however, as you hear cries and screams in the distance. Because of your knowledge of the undead you know it is a feeding call. You peer into the darkness of the street and cannot see your helmet which had bounced off of your head during the impact. Thinking quickly you...

A. Look for the helmet that probably saved some nasty cuts

B. Forget the helmet and...
a. Continue on towards the tall building
b. Go back to the truck
c. Head towards the smoldering building past the truck

C. Using your medical kit, try to aid some of the cuts you sustained

Keeping your breath as silent as possible and your footsteps even quieter, you slowly make your way through a decaying hallway. The paint on the walls is peeling, and some parts the walls are non-exsistant leading straight into other rooms or in some cases the outside. But, you don't let the degraded appearence of the house decieve you.

You know who is secretly making camp here. For the past 3 days you had been following a small convoy of Dynavax personel, knowing they had weapons and items of importance to your survival. There was five of them. Two private contractors and three scientists. And now, in the cover of this October night, you planned on taking what you believed should be yours.

Silently you advanced down the hallway. Several doors and openings in the walls on your left and right lead to various rooms, but the room you were interested was straight ahead. The door had a small sliver of light underneath it, giving off the men you pursude. Approaching the door you also realize they must have put a dresser or wooden shelf in front of the door to act as a basic barricade. You look to your right and see an open doorway that leads to another room. The room, the biggest noticable feature is a huge gaping hole that lead into the desolate street below, had a bed and a broken television. You realized it to be a one room studio apartment. Looking one last time at the door in front of you, you know you could easily force the door open and barge in. Still having your element of surpirse you...

A. Stand up, take a step back, and drop kick the door for all its worth

B. Moving back down the hall, get a running start and lower your shoulder into the door, barging into the room

You sprint down the wharf, running for your life. Behind you, a ravenous mob of zombies gives chase. Ahead of you, a small fishing boat starts to depart and despite your cries for help, they show no signs of stopping for you. Nearing the edge of the pier, the boat starts bolting off, leaving you for dead. You turn around to see a mob of zombies numbering about 70 closing in. Deciding to go down with a fight you throw your gasoline can with all the force you can muster and then take out your flare gun. You aim and shoot, hoping to kill as many as you can before you die. As the flames leap up, to your surpise the undead sprint right through it. As the undead grasp ahold of you, you feel teeth gouge into your neck, and your life slowly slips away...

And then you wake up.

With a start, you leap nearly 3 feet into the air, before landing akwardly on your knees. At first you sign heavily at the nightmare that you have been having for the past few nights and then that sigh turns into a grunt of anger. When you had been told that a man with a boat was at the dock district of Ridleybank, you started heading there, with the possiblity you could have gotten out of the city. But you had come to find nothing, a journey across the city, for nothing.

You take in your surrdoundings. You are in one of the many warehouses in the docking district. You are in a room that is located inside of the warehouse, an office at one point most likely. Unable to sleep you decided you want to move on. To your left is the door you entered through. Behind you is a door that was locked when you first came in, but didn't bother looking entrance. The office has a few cabniets and a desk. You..

A. Go out the door and into the main area of the warehouse

B. Try to force open the door behind you

C. Look around the office for anything of intrest

D. Try to go back to sleep, it is 1 AM after all.

You sprint into the food court and in the meantime staying low. Peripherally you see movement to your left and start hearing shouts. The shouts, definatly not generated towards you, seem to be an alert for other people. Instinctivly you sprint into a slide as you come behind the cover of the stone planter. Luckily as you slide you can nearly feel the bullets that whiz nearly inches away from your head. As your senses come around, you begin to hear reports belonging to 2 or maybe even 3 guns. These guns, obviously assualt rifles, are no doubtly wielded by people who know what they are doing. Knowing you are either outnumbered 1-2 or 1-3, you...

A. Keep your head low, waiting for the unknown amount of attackers to reload.

B. Put your gun up and without exposing to much of yourself, fire a few rounds without aiming

C. Go to a crouching position, aim, and fire
