The city of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina never slept. Nor did it choose not to. The urban metropolis that was located on the very edge of lake Eerie had over 6 million people that called the city home. Among those residents were people employed by one of the United State's largest coorporation: Dynavax Institue of Technological Research or DITR.

Dynavax had many research fields, one of their most sucsessful was their biological and weapon testing. But they had also influenced many other areas of research such as alternate energy and fuel efficent cars. One of their main headquarters for their biological and human genetic mutation research was in Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina. Dynavax literally founded the city themselves and built the city upon their needs. They gave jobs to nearly 3/5 of the population, whether it was an office job, blue collar worker, scientist or even one of the many private contrators that they employed.

It was 2019 and the United States was finally coming out of a depression that had crippled the country's econmic state. Dynavax was the forerunner of the US's upswing, by opening countless nationwide projects on roads, factories and medical research. During this time they also poured money into the biological research headquarters of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina.

Ridleybank was built by Dynavax both from the ground up and literally the ground down. They built massive tunnel complexes that streched nearly 500 feet below ground and was as wide as the city itself. Tunnel systems riddled the earth beneath Ridleybank, creating a insitution that couldn't be monitored. They opened up numerous projects within this complex, one of which was the 'Pro Bono' project. 'Pro Bono', which was Latin for "for the public good", was to create biological super soldiers by editing human genetics to make soldiers more stronger, perceptionally aware, combat intellegent, and having extreme endurance. As the 'Pro Bono' project continued, those that were in the project started getting Smallpox-like symptoms. Some of which died after several weeks of suffering from what appeared to be Smallpox. Smallpox, which had been considered a 'dead' disease, had thought to have been released into the underground complex. Almost the entire underground area of Dynavax's secret establishment was shut down. After a week of air testing of almost every inch, it was reopened. The scientists and private contractors that were working on the 'Pro Bono' project and had became sick, had died of Smallpox-like problems.

Several weeks after that Dynavax quietly was losing a battle. Underground, somehow, both scientists and private contractors had become enraged. They bit, slashed, and clawed at anyone who wasn't angered. They didn't respond to any forms of communication and when the time came, bullets seemed to not hinder them. Only until they were either torn apart by bullets or shot in the head, did they stop. Slowly, their numbers multiplied. And slowly, Dynavax realized the connection to the 'Pro Bono' inncicent and the enraged, powerful, and quick former employees. People that were bitten or people that were put into contact with these insane people displayed similar smallpox-like symptoms and eventually died. After they made the connection that those that got the disease eventually died and came back to life, it was already to late...

The undead had reached the surface...

Welcome to a zombie RP, but this isn't your average one. This is more in-depth than anyone elseâs out there. I will be using your traits that your character displays. These traits are determined by your skill level in a certain skill. And your skill level is raised by simply surviving and using tools that are given to you.

You will be playing the role of a survivor stuck in Ridleybank, Pennsylvania. It has been 7 weeks since the 'Pro Bono', or PB for short, hit the streets. The state of the city is dire, Dynavax has ordered the government to set up quarantine in a perimeter around the city, and still has private contractors in the city that most of the time shoot on sight at anyone, living or dead. What you do, where you start, and how you survive is simply up to you. I'll provide you with your situation, your options (which can be altered as long as I approve of it) and what you do will determine whether you live...or become a shambling zombie.

Un-life isn't the end of the road however. Later in the game if you die, playing as a zombie will become an option if you fall ill.

Now let's continue on your character:

This is the character sheet, you will need to fill it out according to the information I will give you below. If you fill it out wrong, I'll as you to do it again, it's that simple:

Name:
Age: (Optional)
Description: (Optional)
Bio: (Optional)
Profession:
Profession Skills:

Profession Items:
Purchased Items:
Starting Location:

Now on to Professions:

Everyone in Ridleybank had a profession. Whether you were a small-time scientist for Dynavax, an office worker, a blue collar worker, or even being homeless, you had a profession. This is a list of chooseable professions. Choose wisely, you will gain both necessary skills and items from the profession you pick.

LOCATIONS: Can start in Dynavax restricted zones.

______
Dynavax Private Contractor Grunt: Dynavax employed just as many mercenaries as scientists. They were equipped well, wielding the best weapons of the era. However many lower level private contractors, A.K.A Grunts, were no longer in the loop of Dynavax operations in the Ridleybank area. Because of that, they are low on ammunition. They have basic firearm skills, Dynavax building recognition, and basic endurance.
Skills: Dynavax Employment, Basic Firearms, Basic Endurance

______

Military Professions

The National Guardsmen: One of the many National Guardsmen stationed either in one of Ridleybankâs two forts or in the surrounding area when the outbreak hit. They were the first to arrive when the reported rioting occurred. Only when the dead starting rising and the city descended into hell did the brave homeland protectors of the United States realize they were in the middle of the shit they signed up for. Although many died in the first few weeks, many still strive to survive. Although Fort Dunwichâs, one of the two National Guard forts in the city, courtyard fell three days before the 7 week mark, many National Guardsmen and civilians are held up in the fortâs armory. The other National Guard fort, Fort Dalton, on the other hand, remains in human control, being the major United States army outpost in the city. Even still, many other soldiers are isolated in the city, with most of the time little aid.

National Guardsman Private: Your basic National Guardsman. Equipped with a H&K G36 assault rifle and their wits, they were once the shining hope of the city. Now, they are scattered and helpless. Most are posted in one of the two forts of the city, while some are stuck navigating the city. They have basic firearm skills, basic rifle skills, basic endurance, but suffer from âF-Unluckyâ when talking about their luck of the Ridleybank campaign.

Skills: Basic Firearm Training, Basic Rifle Training, Basic Endurance, F-Unlucky (Loss of Luck)

Items: G36 Assault Rifle (Fully Loaded: 30), x2 5.56x45mm NATO clips, Basic Combat Armor, Combat Helmet, Military Radio (picks up both regular and military restricted frequencies), x1 Random Grenade (Frag, Flashbang, Or Smoke)

LOCATIONS: You can start in Fort Dunwich or Fort Dalton.
______

National Guardsman Medic: Like the National Guard Private, the everyday medic has had similar problems with Ridleybank. Although they have had more close up experience with the undead, some even attempting to save their falling comrades only to have them die and turn on them. Because of this they also know more about the disease than most. They have basic medical training, as well as basic firearm training. They do not have as much firepower as regular soldiers, only wielding a 9mm pistol if they have to face combat.

Skills: Basic Firearm Training, Basic Medical Training, Basic Disease Awareness, F-Unlucky

Items: 9mm Beretta 92 (Fully Loaded: 15), x2 9mm pistol clips, Basic Combat Armor, x4 Medical Kit, Military Radio

______

Prison Guard: The unsung heroes of the Ridleybank outbreak, the Prison Guards of the Patton Correctional Facility, had to fight a war on two sides. When the undead started assaulting the prison, they had to keep the dangerous convicts that were still in the jail in line. They managed to keep this fight for 5 weeks into the infection, only when someone from the outside blew a hole in the wall with a bomb, did prisoners escape and zombies invade the prison. They carry M16A1 rifles, and the skills gained in their 5 week struggle.

Items: x10 Medical Kits, A randomly improvised weapon.

Skills

The skill level function works like this:
When you perform an action successfully (or sometimes unsuccessfully) in the field you will gain skill points in the appropriate skill. This is how they level up.
Most Skills:
Not Listed = 0-14 Skill Points
Basic = 15â"44 Skill Points
Regular= 45-99 Skill Points
Advanced = 100-199 Skill Points
Master = 200+ Skill Points

So if you have Basic Pistol Training as a starting skill that means you have 15 skill points already in Pistol Training. In order to level it up to Regular Pistol Training you would need to earn 29 skill points.

Now the 2 generalized Skills: Firearm Training, Melee Skills work basically the same. Anything you do that aids any of the general skill will give you skill points. They also determine if you are successful in that field, but specialized skills determine this more. Because of this it takes about two times as more skill points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-29
Basic= 30-79
Regular= 80-149
Advanced= 149-289
Master= 400+

The most generalized skill: Survival, is ranked up by doing anything that aids you in the effort to stave off the undead and live to see another day. It affects everything you do and because of this, it takes even more points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-49
Basic=50-139
Regular=140-279
Advanced=280-579
Master=1000+

________
Now the concept of skills is dealt with. The following are skills you can purchase. NOTE: You can only get 2 of the following skills. They will give 15 skill points into the skill that you choose and WILL stack with any profession skills you get.
So if you already have basic bladed weapon skill then you will still have basic bladed weapon but with an extra 15 skill points. So Basic Bladed Weapon Skills (30/44) instead of (15/44).

Survival Skills
Firearm Skills
Melee Weapon Skills
Pistol Training
Rifle Training
Shotgun Training
SMG Training
Blunt Weapon Skills
Bladed Weapon Skills
Lock picking Skills
Hotwiring Skills
Free Running
Acrobatics
Endurance
Intelligence
Disease Awareness
Command
Stealth

Although there may be more skills later in the game, this is all you can choose from. You can choose two of the same skill if you like.

______

Purchasable Items

Last but not least are purchasable items. Each person is given $30 (or more if your profession allows) to spend ONLY in the beginning. You can choose not to spend your money and keep it, perhaps giving you a chance to use it in the game, but buying items is probably more useful than worthless paper.

x2 Medical Kits: $15
x1 Pistol Clip (Ammo Type Of Your Choosing): $10
x1 SMG Clip (Same as above): $15
x1 Rifle Clip (â â): $20
x1 Flare Gun (Shot into the sky or at something, can cause fires): $15

x1 Frag, Smoke, or Flashbang Grenade: $20

x1 GPS Unit: $20
Combat Armor: $25
Combat Helmet: $10
Binoculars: $5
Surgical Mask (Reduces Dust Irritation): $5
Gas Mask (Eliminates Dust Irritation): $10
x1 Cocaine (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Can Cause Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $20
x1 Heroin (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Weaker Than Cocaine, Less Chance Of Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $15
x1 Weed (Gives Boost To Health, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $10
Random Food Item (Depending On Item Gives Boost To Stamina and/or Health): $5
âI <3 Ridleybank T-Shirtâ: Free!

______

Strip Mall: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, low zombie population.
Hospital: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, high zombie populations.

Drakon slides into the empty room, silent as shadows. He stops and listens intently.

"They is quiet...asleep? Or waiting? Waiting to sleep?" he murmurs to himself.

Noticing the floor is in quite a bad state he says "Hello floor! You seem sick today. Not all there! Neither am I, so together were are there. Wherever there is, maybe here. Nice to meet you."

He takes one more quick look around. Fire escape. Bed. Broken TV. Hole.

He takes the bed and throws it down the hole, and it makes a rather dull thud as it lands. "You stay there. Don't run away now! Last bed that tried to run away I killed. Or was that a man? Bedman? Yes, bedman. Nasty little thing..."

He figures that in case he misses the jump, the bed should break his fall. He is insane, yes. Stupid? Far from it.

"Time to play leapfrog! Be ages since I played. So very much fun."

And with that, Drakon silently runs up to the gap and leaps.

Moving quickly, mentally aware of the undead breaking through the doors, you move towards where the grenade exploded. You notice that the explosion from the grenade had left a small crater in the tiled floor as well as created a blackish residue on the walls. Approaching the doorway, you then see the metal door that had been blown off completely from its hinges, as well as the ghastly sight of the torn body of the man that died holding a live grenade. Rifle raised, you take a step into the doorway...

Before you could even react, one of the men in a lying down position with one of his armed raised holding a pistol aimed and fired. The bullet hitting you in the left shoulder, you recoiled, raised your right arm that was holding your rifle and fired a single round. Either subconciously or by accident you hit the man's arm holding the gun and subsequently disarmed him (Firearm, Rifle Skill).

Getting a first look at what the man was wearing, you discovered he was a Dynavax Private Contractor, bearing armor and clothes that had the embedded symbol. The private contractor, simply looked up at you with a bloodied face. His stomach, blasted by the grenade, was in no better shape than his legs which were openly bleeding in some places. His fellow private contractor most likely died instantly, lying right in front of the man that stared right back at you.

Breaking the grim silence, the man said "So? What are you waiting for? Finish me off like the primevil beast you are," and as he said that he perked himself up giving you a better shot at his chest. You...

Deciding that it best to make sure the zombies are kept at bay, you continue to help the growing effort of survivors repairing the barricade. For a few minutes you toil away moving anything heavy or large in front of the doors. After about 10 minutes, although the large amount of items now infront of the doors, the undead continue to move systematically through the barricades. Some of the survivors begin to panic, some fleeing into the mall to seek refuge.

Only when the man that you sent to find the security guards return did the real panicking begin. Coming back, his shirt bloodied and a gore soaked cloth pressed at his throat he proclaimed that the undead had broken through another entrance to the mall and that all of the security guards had been killed. Everyone, realizing he had been bitten, started yelling and screaming and scattered around. The man that had been eaten at by the zombies then took out a pistol and pointed it to his temple. The gunshot, creating loud screams from the woman in this area of the mall, also galvanized, you noticed, the undead to work quicker at dismantling the barricade (Disease Awareness). A man approached you and told you that they needed to get out of here and he knew of a back service entrance that you could use. Taking one last look at the undead furiously tearing apart at the layers of debris and a last look at the other survivors screaming, crying, yelling praying and running you...

You press the TALK button ontop of the radio and then give out the most recent formal greeting of Ridleybank:

"Hello? Anyone alive?"

For a few moments of quiet, unwelcomed static, you begin to hear the voice of a man in his late forties.

"Rick? Rick is that you? I swear I thought you died a few days ago after you stopped talking into the radio. Hello? Rick?"

At the mentioning of the name Rick you realize that he must be talking about the zombie you had just slain. Not wanting to be the bearer of bad news you start telling the man through the radio of Rick's fate. After a few moments, and what sounded like a deep sigh, the man continued.

"Well whoever you are, you must have seen all of Rick's stuff of the boat ferrying people to Canada. I'm the Captain of that boat. Now listen very carefully, I'm about to go out of the range of the radios any moment now. I'm going to be at dock 19 near warehouse 17 in a week. The Coast Guard has increased their blockades in the area and I'm certain I will be able to get through in exactly a week. Next Monday, a week from now, I'll be at I repeat Dock 19 near Warehouse 17 at 3:00, in the afternoon of course. If you aren't there within 20 minutes, I'll have to get out of there. Got that?"

But before you could reply the radio went into permanent static. Writing down the date, location and time in the notebook you realize that zombies were still moving towards your position. You...

Alright, updated. As for the story it sounds cool, but something I wouldn't be intrested in helping with. I don't really like writing stories but rather doing this. I definitely give you permission to something like that, and would love to read a story on this RP =)

I'll point my gun at the man, and tell him not to move or I'll shoot. Then I quickly gather up all the weapons and supplies that both the live man and the dead man had(they can keep their regular clothes, though I'll take their armor). Then I will help him with my medical kit, now sure that he can't be much of a threat to him.

Scowling, not only to frighten the man, but to hide the wince coming into his face from the badly stinging shoulder wound, Jonathan points his rifle at the man.
"Don't move, or I will finish you," he says darkly. Then, he quickly gathers up all the equipment, from both the live man and the dead man; however, he decides to let them keep their normal clothes, for the sake of decency and since it wouldn't be much use to him anyway. Then Coleman takes his medical kit and starts administering aid to the man, angrily muttering to himself about what he'd like to do(the shoulder wound really does hurt).
"Sorry. You're still human; I won't kill you," he tells the man while doing this(although this statement was followed by a much less noble and humane one, growled so the man couldn't hear about all the hurt one could do to an idiot without killing him). "Now, what were you saying about how I'm a primevil beast? You know you're insulting yourself as well, when you say that."
Then Coleman uses the medical kit on himself, to staunch the bleeding and clean his wounds.

Taking one last breath, knowing it might be your last as a person that has the ability to stand, you take a few quick steps across the rotting floor. As you jump the floor around you literally breaks apart and falls as time slows to a near standstill. Although hangtime only lasted a few moments, it felt like hours as you were suspended above the mattress you threw down as a quirky live saver. Time begins to return to normal as you slam into the metal fire escape (Acrobatics). Nearly bouncing off, you cling to the metal bars for dear life. After a moment of being dazed you clamber up and onto the safety of the cold metal. Returning to a crouching position you quickly make your way to the window of the room filled with Dynavax employees. After leaning and taking a quick peep into the window you realize that there isn't anyone keeping watch, at least on this side of the room.

The candle, which was on a lone table in the center of the room, shed a pale, flickering light throughout the room. There was only one person keeping watch, a private contractor judging by his armor and FN-Scar that was propped against the wall to his left. Looking at his posture and body language you could tell he was either sleeping or nodding off. That left the other 4, another private contractor and scientist alseep either on the floor, the lone bed, or on makeshift bed coverings. The other noticeable feature of the room was that there was a large gaping hole in the center of the ceiling that lead to the apartment above.

Turning around you see that the fire escape leads both up and down and with one last devious look at the window and into the room you...

A) Quietly open the window and enter...
a) Approaching the guard, silently, and assasinating him
b) Approaching the nearest sleeping person and silently kill him

B) Go up the fire escape and into the room above, seeking to use that hole in the ceiling to your advantage

C) Make a sound at the window and try to make the lone watchman come over, then killing him
