The city of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina never slept. Nor did it choose not to. The urban metropolis that was located on the very edge of lake Eerie had over 6 million people that called the city home. Among those residents were people employed by one of the United State's largest coorporation: Dynavax Institue of Technological Research or DITR.

Dynavax had many research fields, one of their most sucsessful was their biological and weapon testing. But they had also influenced many other areas of research such as alternate energy and fuel efficent cars. One of their main headquarters for their biological and human genetic mutation research was in Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina. Dynavax literally founded the city themselves and built the city upon their needs. They gave jobs to nearly 3/5 of the population, whether it was an office job, blue collar worker, scientist or even one of the many private contrators that they employed.

It was 2019 and the United States was finally coming out of a depression that had crippled the country's econmic state. Dynavax was the forerunner of the US's upswing, by opening countless nationwide projects on roads, factories and medical research. During this time they also poured money into the biological research headquarters of Ridleybank, Pennslyvaina.

Ridleybank was built by Dynavax both from the ground up and literally the ground down. They built massive tunnel complexes that streched nearly 500 feet below ground and was as wide as the city itself. Tunnel systems riddled the earth beneath Ridleybank, creating a insitution that couldn't be monitored. They opened up numerous projects within this complex, one of which was the 'Pro Bono' project. 'Pro Bono', which was Latin for "for the public good", was to create biological super soldiers by editing human genetics to make soldiers more stronger, perceptionally aware, combat intellegent, and having extreme endurance. As the 'Pro Bono' project continued, those that were in the project started getting Smallpox-like symptoms. Some of which died after several weeks of suffering from what appeared to be Smallpox. Smallpox, which had been considered a 'dead' disease, had thought to have been released into the underground complex. Almost the entire underground area of Dynavax's secret establishment was shut down. After a week of air testing of almost every inch, it was reopened. The scientists and private contractors that were working on the 'Pro Bono' project and had became sick, had died of Smallpox-like problems.

Several weeks after that Dynavax quietly was losing a battle. Underground, somehow, both scientists and private contractors had become enraged. They bit, slashed, and clawed at anyone who wasn't angered. They didn't respond to any forms of communication and when the time came, bullets seemed to not hinder them. Only until they were either torn apart by bullets or shot in the head, did they stop. Slowly, their numbers multiplied. And slowly, Dynavax realized the connection to the 'Pro Bono' inncicent and the enraged, powerful, and quick former employees. People that were bitten or people that were put into contact with these insane people displayed similar smallpox-like symptoms and eventually died. After they made the connection that those that got the disease eventually died and came back to life, it was already to late...

The undead had reached the surface...

Welcome to a zombie RP, but this isn't your average one. This is more in-depth than anyone elseâs out there. I will be using your traits that your character displays. These traits are determined by your skill level in a certain skill. And your skill level is raised by simply surviving and using tools that are given to you.

You will be playing the role of a survivor stuck in Ridleybank, Pennsylvania. It has been 7 weeks since the 'Pro Bono', or PB for short, hit the streets. The state of the city is dire, Dynavax has ordered the government to set up quarantine in a perimeter around the city, and still has private contractors in the city that most of the time shoot on sight at anyone, living or dead. What you do, where you start, and how you survive is simply up to you. I'll provide you with your situation, your options (which can be altered as long as I approve of it) and what you do will determine whether you live...or become a shambling zombie.

Un-life isn't the end of the road however. Later in the game if you die, playing as a zombie will become an option if you fall ill.

Now let's continue on your character:

This is the character sheet, you will need to fill it out according to the information I will give you below. If you fill it out wrong, I'll as you to do it again, it's that simple:

Name:
Age: (Optional)
Description: (Optional)
Bio: (Optional)
Profession:
Profession Skills:
Purchased Skills:
Profession Items:
Purchased Items:
Starting Location:

Now on to Professions:

Everyone in Ridleybank had a profession. Whether you were a small-time scientist for Dynavax, an office worker, a blue collar worker, or even being homeless, you had a profession. This is a list of chooseable professions. Choose wisely, you will gain both necessary skills and items from the profession you pick.

LOCATIONS: Can start in Dynavax restricted zones.

______
Dynavax Private Contractor Grunt: Dynavax employed just as many mercenaries as scientists. They were equipped well, wielding the best weapons of the era. However many lower level private contractors, A.K.A Grunts, were no longer in the loop of Dynavax operations in the Ridleybank area. Because of that, they are low on ammunition. They have basic firearm skills, Dynavax building recognition, and basic endurance.
Skills: Dynavax Employment, Basic Firearms, Basic Endurance

Items: Fiveseven 5.7x28mm Pistol (Fully Loaded: 20), x2 5.7x28mm pistol clips, Dynavax Passcard , Basic combat armor, Dynavax Radio (picks up both regular and Dynavax exclusive channels)

______

Military Professions

The National Guardsmen: One of the many National Guardsmen stationed either in one of Ridleybankâs two forts or in the surrounding area when the outbreak hit. They were the first to arrive when the reported rioting occurred. Only when the dead starting rising and the city descended into hell did the brave homeland protectors of the United States realize they were in the middle of the shit they signed up for. Although many died in the first few weeks, many still strive to survive. Although Fort Dunwichâs, one of the two National Guard forts in the city, courtyard fell three days before the 7 week mark, many National Guardsmen and civilians are held up in the fortâs armory. The other National Guard fort, Fort Dalton, on the other hand, remains in human control, being the major United States army outpost in the city. Even still, many other soldiers are isolated in the city, with most of the time little aid.

National Guardsman Private: Your basic National Guardsman. Equipped with a H&K G36 assault rifle and their wits, they were once the shining hope of the city. Now, they are scattered and helpless. Most are posted in one of the two forts of the city, while some are stuck navigating the city. They have basic firearm skills, basic rifle skills, basic endurance, but suffer from âF-Unluckyâ when talking about their luck of the Ridleybank campaign.

Skills: Basic Firearm Training, Basic Rifle Training, Basic Endurance, F-Unlucky (Loss of Luck)

Items: G36 Assault Rifle (Fully Loaded: 30), x2 5.56x45mm NATO clips, Basic Combat Armor, Combat Helmet, Military Radio (picks up both regular and military restricted frequencies), x1 Random Grenade (Frag, Flashbang, Or Smoke)

LOCATIONS: You can start in Fort Dunwich or Fort Dalton.
______

National Guardsman Medic: Like the National Guard Private, the everyday medic has had similar problems with Ridleybank. Although they have had more close up experience with the undead, some even attempting to save their falling comrades only to have them die and turn on them. Because of this they also know more about the disease than most. They have basic medical training, as well as basic firearm training. They do not have as much firepower as regular soldiers, only wielding a 9mm pistol if they have to face combat.

Items: 9mm Beretta 92 (Fully Loaded: 15), x2 9mm pistol clips, Basic Combat Armor, x4 Medical Kit, Military Radio

When the undead started assaulting the prison, they had to keep the dangerous convicts that were still in the jail in line. They managed to keep this fight for 5 weeks into the infection, only when someone from the outside blew a hole in the wall with a bomb, did prisoners escape and zombies invade the prison. They carry M16A1 rifles, and the skills gained in their 5 week struggle.

Items: x10 Medical Kits, A randomly improvised weapon.

_______________________________

Skills

The skill level function works like this:
When you perform an action successfully (or sometimes unsuccessfully) in the field you will gain skill points in the appropriate skill. This is how they level up.
Most Skills:
Not Listed = 0-14 Skill Points
Basic = 15â"44 Skill Points
Regular= 45-99 Skill Points
Advanced = 100-199 Skill Points
Master = 200+ Skill Points

So if you have Basic Pistol Training as a starting skill that means you have 15 skill points already in Pistol Training. In order to level it up to Regular Pistol Training you would need to earn 29 skill points.

Now the 2 generalized Skills: Firearm Training, Melee Skills work basically the same. Anything you do that aids any of the general skill will give you skill points. They also determine if you are successful in that field, but specialized skills determine this more. Because of this it takes about two times as more skill points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-29
Basic= 30-79
Regular= 80-149
Advanced= 149-289
Master= 400+

The most generalized skill: Survival, is ranked up by doing anything that aids you in the effort to stave off the undead and live to see another day. It affects everything you do and because of this, it takes even more points to level up:
Not Listed= 0-49
Basic=50-139
Regular=140-279
Advanced=280-579
Master=1000+

________
Now the concept of skills is dealt with. The following are skills you can purchase. NOTE: You can only get 2 of the following skills. They will give 15 skill points into the skill that you choose and WILL stack with any profession skills you get.
So if you already have basic bladed weapon skill then you will still have basic bladed weapon but with an extra 15 skill points. So Basic Bladed Weapon Skills (30/44) instead of (15/44).

Survival Skills
Firearm Skills
Melee Weapon Skills
Pistol Training
Rifle Training
Shotgun Training
SMG Training
Blunt Weapon Skills
Bladed Weapon Skills
Lock picking Skills
Hotwiring Skills
Free Running
Acrobatics
Endurance
Intelligence
Disease Awareness
Command
Stealth

Although there may be more skills later in the game, this is all you can choose from. You can choose two of the same skill if you like.

______

Purchasable Items

Last but not least are purchasable items. Each person is given $30 (or more if your profession allows) to spend ONLY in the beginning. You can choose not to spend your money and keep it, perhaps giving you a chance to use it in the game, but buying items is probably more useful than worthless paper.

x2 Medical Kits: $15
x1 Pistol Clip (Ammo Type Of Your Choosing): $10
x1 SMG Clip (Same as above): $15
x1 Rifle Clip (â â): $20
x1 Flare Gun (Shot into the sky or at something, can cause fires): $15
x1 Gasoline Can (Either used directly to set something alight, or kept to use for a car, or even to make Molotov cocktails): $15
x1 Frag, Smoke, or Flashbang Grenade: $20
x1 Radio: $15
x1 GPS Unit: $20
Combat Armor: $25
Combat Helmet: $10
Binoculars: $5
Surgical Mask (Reduces Dust Irritation): $5
Gas Mask (Eliminates Dust Irritation): $10
x1 Cocaine (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Can Cause Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $20
x1 Heroin (Gives Temporary Boost To Stamina, Weaker Than Cocaine, Less Chance Of Addiction, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $15
x1 Weed (Gives Boost To Health, After Effects May Leave You Vulnerable): $10
Random Food Item (Depending On Item Gives Boost To Stamina and/or Health): $5
âI <3 Ridleybank T-Shirtâ: Free!

______

Starting Locations

I wonât put you in a random spot of the city, instead giving you the chance to decide where you want to start. Either in the congested downtown area or the less populated suburb area, the choice is up to you. Know that some areas are only chooseable for some professions:

Mall: Average survivor population, high lootable areas, high zombie concentrations.
Strip Mall: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, low zombie population.
Hospital: Low survivor population, average lootable areas, high zombie populations.
The Suburbs: Average survivor population, low lootable areas, average zombie population
Downtown District: Average survivor population, average lootable areas, high zombie population
Police Station: Average survivor population, high lootable areas (usually guarded by police officers), high zombie population

______

That is about it. Itâs very long, but only because I am putting time and effort into this. People that arenât serious about doing this need not apply. Fill out this character sheet below (or above) and try to be correct when you do it. Then I will make a character sheet that you will post everytime you make a decision.

Not to be nitpicky or anything, but Chronicles is spelled, well, like that.
So you can fix it.
It's nothing, but since you put a lot of effort into it I thought that you'd want the title spelled right as well.

As you set the bench down, you start yelling at the people chatting excitedly. Although most continue what they are doing, two men and a woman realize they must take action and approach you, thinking you are in charge (Command). They start asking you what they should do to help. You know that there are a few security guards in the mall, after seeing them a couple of times, and are probably in the guard room. A crash behind you makes you think quickly. You...

A. Divide and conquer, telling one of them to go find the security guards, one to get more help with the panicking survivors, and one to help you reinforce the barricade.

B. Focus on getting the barricade in better shape by having all four of you reinforce the barricade.

C. Have all four of you get to the guard room, knowing that the front entrance is hopeless.

D. Flee deeper into the mall

At a quick pace you start walking towards the tall building, giving distance between you and the smoldering truck behind you. As you walk along the sidewalk in the cool October night you regain your breath after the close call you recently had. The building, you come to realize, is familer to you. Eventually you come to see that it is actually a Dynavax owned office building, which meant there is a tunnel system that leads to the underground Dynavax complex. When you are almost a block away from the building you see several figures in the darkness. These figures you come to realize are zombies, and must have been recently infected, because they weren't seemingly as quick or agile as zombies you have seen that have been infected for a longer time. (Disease Awareness).

There is an alley way to your left that might lead you around the zombies as well as desolate cars that line the street that could be used as cover. You...

A. Keep walking towards the building, chef knife ready

B. Try to silently get past the recently turned zombies. (Disease Awareness, Stealth)

C. Take the alley and see if you can get past them

As you fall into a prone position you hear and feel a large amount of bullets whiz and hit objects around you. The stone planter, a wise choice of defense, easily takes the bullets without much damage and chipping, but the same couldn't be said of the tree that took a few bullets to the trunk and collapsed to the ground. In the prone position you decide to go to on the side that the tree had fallen, giving you more cover. As you peek your head and rifle around a bullet catches your shoulder, but the armor absorbs most of the blow, and it just barely breaks skin.

As soon as you started firing at a figure you saw downrange, he was more shocked at the fact you had a gun much like his own. You aimed true, putting a few bullets in the mans chest as he collapsed to ground before shooting rounds in the air with his rifle (Firearm, Rifle Skills) . You then saw two other figures duck behind pieces of cover, most likely to reload. Knowing you still have the better 2/3 of your clip still loaded you...

A. Stand up and fire where one of the men were

B. Get to a crouch position, aim...
a. and fire where one of the men were
b. Wait for one of them to pop up their heads

C. Stay in a prone position and be ready to fire

It's misspelled? That's embarrassing. I don't think I can change the title, if you know how I'll gladly change it if you tell me.

And about the zombies and guns. Although I won't tell you directly what the zombies are and how they evolve (leaving it up to you to gain the well placed Disease Awareness Skill), a question like this I will answer. Zombies do not (yet at least) have motor skills and more importantly many memories of life. Not only do they not remember what guns can do, they couldn't use them either.

You reach down and turn the doornob and not surpisingly it's still locked. You start putting your shoulder into the door, rythmatically banging on it. With that not working, you then start lifting your leg and kicking the door. With still no positive results you then take a few steps back and put your shoulder into the door. You bounce off and fall to the floor, your shoulder and pride slightly bruised. Looking around the room you see a small cart that might have been used for laundry. Thinking outside of the box you take the cart and line it up with the door and then charge towards it with all your might (Intelligence). The door cracks and breaks off its hinges and causing you to tumble into the next room cart included.

Back to your senses you realize that your cart had run into a person that was standing in front of the door, but in the pale light you then see that it is actually a zombie. With your knowledge of the undead you come to see that it has been infected for a long time, perhaps 6 weeks. Because of this, its skin is more pale, it is agile and deadly (Disease Awareness). Its white, bulbous eyes lock with yours as you draw your lead pipe. The cart, which had pinned it against the wall, was between you and the zombie. You...

A. Try to reach the zombie over the cart with your pipe and slam it across the head

B. Take a step back and go out the way you came knowing it is deadly

C. Slam the cart into the zombie repeativly

D. Take a step back, draw your flare gun, and fire

Babbling silently to himself, Drakon creeps into the open room. He knows that they do not stay in one spot for long, so before long they will be on the move....

E) - I slam the cart into it, knocking it backwards. I pick up the cart, and throw it at it, then smash it's head in to a bloody pump.

As you shouted your command to cease fire (Command), you didn't hear but more of sensed they knew that you meant pure business if they continued to fight you. As you sat there proned, you sensed that the last two men were talking amongst themselves in harsh whispers. They were obviously talking about whether or not they should continue fighting or flee. After a few grimly quiet moments, one of the men stood up and fired in your direction while the other moved to his fallen comrade and started dragging him by the legs. As the second man drags his status unknown brethern, the other man lays down covering fire in your direction. You...

A) In a prone position
a) Fire at the man shooting at you
b) Fire at the man dragging his dead or dying comrade away
c) Wait, knowing that they are fleeing

B) Get to a crouched position and
a) Fire at the man shooting you
b) Fire at the man dragging the corpse

C) Roll back into cover and wait for them to leave

D) Other

And yes, you can pick multiple options, if and only if one of them is the "Other" =)

As you point off one of the survivors to get the mall security guards, you consecutively tell the woman to calm down the other survivors (Command). Once two of the three are busy doing what you told them to, you tell the last man to help you grab a moveable cart that once sold candy from quarter machines. As you quickly move it to the double doors that lead into the mall, you see that zombies had entered the small entrance lobby and were moving rhytmatically through the loose barricades the survivors had set up. You see that they are moving considerably quickly and soon they will be breaking through the glass doors and into the mall itself. You look back to see that the crowd of people had calmed down considerably, and some were even grabbing benches and other heavy items laying around to help reinforce the barricade. The guards and the man you sent to find them, however, were nowhere to be seen, and now that you think of it, it is extremely strange that they weren't the first people on the scene when the attack began. As the man helping you went out to help other people with barricade items, you...

A) Investigate where the guards are...
a) Asking for help from one of the survivors
b) Going alone

B) Continue helping the survivors reinforce the barricade

C) Flee deeper into the mall

D) Other

As you creep into the dark room, you realize two things; one is that the floor is about to give in any second, and two that there is a fire escape beyond the hole in the wall that leads to the outside. The fire escape, which is about 8 feet away from where the floor ends and the abyss begins, seems old but very durable. As you sit there, accessing the situation, you don't hear any voices or noise coming from the next room, meaning that they are alseep or very quiet. Knowing you will either have to jump the 8 foot gap to the fire escape or barge in loudly, you...

A) Go all for nothing, leaping across the gap, risking a broken leg

B) Turn around and barge in the door, machete at the ready

C) Other
