I'm 25 now (my profile is a lie, I'm an Indonesian, now in China), When I was 18, just finished my high school and a year after that, I start my own small business. I start sell used mobile phone and mobile phone accessories and prepaid mobile phone bills. In Indonesia, even the fake mobile phone accessories have grades.
Charger and batteries(

Grade C: buy $0,5 I can sell it for $1 or $1,5.
Grade B: buy $2 and sell it for $4
Grade A: buy $5 and sell it for $8, I used this grade A battery, and sell my own Sony Ericson Original battery for $20. This grade A battery is good, I've been using this for more than 6 years.
Mobile phone prepaid cards (lowest income),

10k credit: I can get $0,2 p
25k credit: $0,2 p
50k credit: $0,3
100k credit: $0,5
There are 2 kinds of prepaid card, one is a card, the other one is electronic-prepaid card, u charge the credit from your mobile.

Sony Ericson: I can get $5-30 p each.
Nokia: It's very famous in Indonesia, I can get $10-35 p each

I was being trick by some seller, they sold me a broken mobile, I got tricked 3 times and lost some money. But life is unpredictable, and we, human, learn from mistake and become smarter and better, day after day. I also learn how to survive in this business from my friends that already open a store for 10+ years. They also have similiar experiences. Life is always up and down, like a wave in the sea.
I have selling these things for 4 years in my free time in the night. In the morning until afteroon, I study Information System(my major in a university), and open my small store from afternoon untill 11 o'clock in the night. I get profit $200-500/month.
Just FYI, the salary of Bachelor degree was just $150-200/month in Indonsia. And with $150 you can have a decent++ life for a single person, not enough for a family with 2 kids.
Then, I used that money to buy a ticket to Nanning, China. I paid the tuition fee for 2 years, I study Chinese here. Next year I will take my Master and teaching Indonesian language at the same time, I will be very tired. So, there is a big possiblity I won't have time to visit AG. Master degree in China is very cheap, only $600/year, it's around $2500/year in Indonesia.
Life is awesome here, I have friends from US, Ireland, Vietnam, Swiss, Thai, Indonesian, Laos. I learn their language too, just how to speak, not written. Chinese have 5 tones, but Vietnamese have 9 tones.
dont drop out or you will be working in a McDonalds/BK/Taco Bell/Wendy's/any other fast food joint but even that, you'll be too shy (apperently) to talk to the customers and get fired from that job lickity-split.

I think if he DO = Drop Out school now, he can't find any job, he just 15 years old, right? too small, underage.
