Yes. The president needs to stop dithering and actually do his job. Personally I think the Military should not have to wait for months to get an answer but be able to order troops over at their own discretion.
Yes. It was a long-thought-out decision, one that was made very carefully. The Taliban is a force that grows quickly, and it will be less costly to fight them now as opposed to when they have strong roots and far-stretched influence.
I'll say this now, to anyone who wants to say that it'll last longer than expected: Why would the president and his advisers take that chance? We're barely coming out of a war that lasted 7 years longer than expected and we have a barely-evening-out economy. Not to mention, if it were poorly executed, the democratic party's popularity would suffer terribly, possibly making the rest of his term a living hell if the dem's are overtaken by the republicans in mid-term.
ok this is how i see it either send every person in the army in at once or take everyone out either win for sure or quit all togther. don't send in more people and then need more but then take a few out. go all out or quit
Abandon every military base in the world to attack one nation... Ummmm NO. If you thought illegal immigration was bad now, by the time we got back all of Mexico would be here.

Well, does 30 000 Marines sound like enough? It's only part of what General McCrystal suggested (40k), but it's a good amount. They're entering by Christmas, full strength by summer, and coming home by July 2011. We already have 68k troops there, and the help of the Afghanistan military, which has been rigorously trained since the beginning of the year.

Fine then, let's leave Iraq before they can defend against all the terrorists there. Just assume that their army can hold back all of the extremists. Never mind the fact that if we pull out now, the government will be overthrown and we'll have the same situation we did when we started it. It's unfortunate that their army isn't progressing like we hoped it to, but it's just something that you have to accept.
Italy will send more troops in Afghanistan (1000 soldiers) and probably many other countries will send reinforcement there. My opinion is that we need to change our tactics to have positive results, because the people of Afghanistan thinks that our armies are the enemy, cause we cause lots of problems to them, so to fight the problem they join extremist organizations.
