Hey, after reading a few posts, I was appalled by how many people on AG shut out science for the mere fact that they don't like it. I'm not talking just about the super-religious people, I've also seen a few people who said no to science just because they could. They didn't listen or pay attention to any evidence or sources brought forward, and they did not use vocabulary correctly. They claimed something wasn't true at all and that it's impossible to figure out what happened, "B cuz i wusn't there lololololololol" They were flaming, flaming, trolling, trolling, knowledge haters. Just flat out haters. I'm tired of these people, you know? Please, share your thoughts on this.
don't flat out hate science, but how science tries to explain things that happens through magic
To each his own, but I don't believe in magic. Honestly, Whimsy, I haven't seen anyone such as you described. Sure, some people use some retarded arguments, but nothing like what you said. And that is not flaming or trolling. Flaming or trolling is insulting someone else. But hey! It's nice that I finally found someone else on AG who appreciates correct grammar. And yes, I am tired of people who refuse to acknowledge your argument. That's why I stopped coming to the WEPR forum. Everything you say just goes in one ear and out the other, you know?
tries to explain things that happens through magic.
Science is proven. I hate to break it to you, but magic is fake. We have no proof of its existence. I won't say anything for religion, other than it hasn't been proven true or false.
I can understand why people would disagree with the Big Bang Theory. But science explains other things to. I think what Whimsy is saying is that people reject science period. There are other things it explains that are proven true.
Think about it, is the birth of a baby because of magic? No, that's science, science can explain why a baby is born from two parents. Are the planets made of magic? No, their made up of hundreds of elements. Are we made of magic? No, in fact we have elements in us that are found in stars, so that maybe a clue to our origin.
Sonicheroes, saying that magic explains things is rather childish. Science explains a lot, even how we may have come into existence. You might not believe something as large and bold as that, but face it, science is around us, in us, and it created us.
Moab, I understand I was exaggerating a bit, but I was just trying to make a point. And I'm glad you people understand how I feel, because it seems like the people who reject science don't even believe in anything except not believing in science.
Magic is unexplained science or con. Unexplained Science is science. That is what science is all about. Science is about gathering facts and data to make and/or support a theory, which in turn combines with several other theories to make and/or support a hypothesis. Anything we do not know, scientists accept that we will not know everything and that it may or may not be possible to locate data/facts. There is a very fine line between real science and exaggerated science. Very fine. So next time you're arguing about something scientific, try to find out whether or not you are looking at real science or fake science.
