This is a message to everyone, not only the atheists.

Look what religion does for the world. Most of it makes the world a better place. I'll use my own religion as an example, LDS. Look what it does for the world. It tells

If it isn't true?
It tells you to not cheat on your wife, to be loyal. The divorce rate's wouldn't be so high, and Aid's wouldn't be that bad.
It tells you to not drink beer. Don't get drunk and do stupid things, to reduce risk of drinking and driving.
It tells you to not smoke, don't get cancer. Live longer.
It gives money to charity, it helps people who are in need, it makes the people who need help get help.
It tells you to help others when you can. Be helpful.
It's a benefit to society. So what if it isn't true? Does it help society, yes? Almost all religions help society. So what if they might be false? They help everyone.
So why tell people they're dumb for being in a church?

The only case I know of that religion had a bad role in was World War 2.

Oh and by the way, I wasn't done typing when I hit enter.

Your not talking about the world over time? religion is a good thing (In my opinion, i being a christian) but if you look back in history, it does leave its mark. Just look at the numbers of people who have died over time for it.

It would help a lot more if you completed your sentences.... and I guess an incomplete thread would spur attention, since you don't know what the topic is about lol XD

I'll use many events to back up my evidence to say that religion makes the world a better place as ONE society, but not with two or more.

...and the formation of Christianity to boot. after all, two religions don't agree with each other at all.

While I do agree that certain teachings in religious texts did help the world in modern standing, there are those that don't. They hold morals back. They teach morals that shouldn't be here.

How maney people actualy fallow those rules? Aithiest are just as moral, they just don't have to be bribed and threatened with life after death...

Religion has done an equil amount of harm and good... We can't count how maney people have been saved by riligion or how maney people died in hate crimes becase of religion. And then there is the Crusades, the spanish inquisition, the muslim extreamist ect.

Well, 17 million mormons follow that, and I guess atheists can follow those rules without religion, but they shouldn't persecute the ones who believe anyway.

And yeah, they have done both, good and bad. But the Crusaders started the Age of Exploration, and the Spanish Inquisition was the Christians way of revenge, I agree it wasn't good. And the Muslim Extremists are religious die-hards who are killing the one's who have stopped believing in their religion. So we sent US troops in to free them from this. That's good, but people are still dieing. That's bad.

What would the world be like if there was no religion? A bunch of emo, depressed people ready to jump off a bridge because they think that their life is for nothing. They think they have no place where they will go when they die so they think "Hey, I might as well go ahaead and do it."

This is why you must live your own life to the fullest, as much as you can. fill it with strong memories. If you want to believe in an afterlife, you may, that's your right. For all of us out there that don't believe in any religions, we will never know when we are dead even when we do die.
