Some of us have had to deal with it and then the mods lie to cover there and other mods butts i will only except people who are serious mods please don't lock this because you could help and find the mods that are the problem.

But I would hope the substantial number of Mods and semi-significant numbers of Admins would be able to notice the scheme, or if already too late, put a stop to it before we all ended up banned from AG for a couple days.

It involved the same name except without the underscore in the name. Those count as spaces in both urls and in code, so essentially, to the server, they were both two accounts. So when one was banned, it just went wacko and fused.

If someone did a Daniel_Mcneely and was banned, he would have control over the Founder's account, and therefore the benefits of being the founder. I think.... *scratches head* whatever, the problem was fixed months ago :P

You could say that it's like electing a president. The only experienced presidents are the ones after their terms are served, meaning that there is no training to be a mod, you're just "thrown" into the circle and be expected by the commonman to know how to do your job.
Easy way for super-trolling: Bribe a mod. Zophia, can you tell me that you would not help the ubertroll by banning all mods and as many users as you could reach while allowing the trolls to fill the boards with porn if you were given, say, 5,000 USD? It wouldn't cause any lasting damage, after all. 5,000!

First of all I have to say that I know you are trying to be serious in making this thread, but it is really just humorous. The mods are not out to get people. It is the opposite. It is to help enforce the rules and encourage members to play nicely.

This seems like a little bit of ego more than anything. The moderators are very busy, and they would not be spending free time looking at all of the members Facebook profiles. And 'age' hacking is not in the moderator repertoire of tools. Every page has the red dot on it.
Is it possible to stack bans? (ie. Give one person two 7 day bans in a row to make a 14 day ban)

So back to the thread itself... the only reason I am not going to lock this is because absolutely no one is taking it seriously. Knew I could count on you AG ;-) If you do have any concerns about someone abusing their privileges in the future, just bring it to me. Do not make threads about it. It isn't productive. And we do not encourage people making threads negatively targeting individuals or groups.

I've run into what I would call Mod abuse in other forums. Some had to do with the way the forum was run overall.
For instance in a long gone forum they had sections such as.
Game Discussion discuss games here.
Questions ask questions here.
Now this being a game forum you would think questions about games would go into Question would you not?

I've also seen a more canned response that almost made the place look like it was being modded by poorly programed bots.

Someone gets a 3 day ban. Two days after, additional 'evidence' has been found against the user and the ban is updated with a 7 day. Two days from the original three have already passed, leaving the new ban at a total length of 8 days. If the original ban had been 7 days and the update was another 7 days but still happened two days through the first ban, the total length would also be 8 days. At least that's how I think it works, based on observations.

That's the response I expected, to be honest. Not just from you, from everyone. It's fairly logical. However, for the sake of argument, assume that there's no way to back out of the deal and get the money. Would you do it?
