In my opinion, while they're good for the economy providing millions of dollars in taxes, however according to most people they're bad for you health-wise. But, isn't everything bad for you in excess if you think about it eating fastfood isn't all that bad if you only eat it once in a while.
Oh boo freakin hoo. You know what else is bad for you? Bottled water, but lotsa people still drink it anyway. I personally hate the stuff, and it's got estrogen in it, so I don't recommend drinking it.
The point is, don't avoid foods just because they're bad for you. Unless you'd rather eat a steamed carrot with no flavor than a nice, juicy burger.

I agree with ernie.I can't stand when people whine about stuff like that,I eat fast food all the time and im not fat, and you know why?Because I exercise and if you keep active you don't need to worry if something is "bad for you".

This is only the case if you dont know how to cook, and fast food burgers are NOT nice and juicy. They are limp and microwaved. Exercise doesnt stop you getting ill if you eat stuff thats bad for you.
Another reason I think fast food is bad is that most of these fast food chains are making BILLIONS of dollars/pounds/yen a year. They are allowed to spend millions a year on advertising to make their food seem GOOD. wtf. You mean you dont have a problem with this? Oh wait, dont tell me. You dont care if someone ELSE wants to shovel that s**t into THEIR body... its not YOU right. Whatever happened to caring about your fellow human.
Do you realize that you can grow fresh vegetable in a window planter these are so much healthier than supermarket ones as they haven't had pesticides and such used on them.
Right now I can't grow anything because I only get four hours of sunlight, but I do that in the summer. It's still a good point though.

I don't know of any major fast food restaurant that microwaves meat. Some, like Carls Jr. (and I think BK) use a conveyor belt oven to cook their burgers. Others, like McDonalds, use a grill press. A grill press is two flat heated surfaces that clamp down on a burger, cooking it twice as fast. In both cases the burgers cook in their own fat. If you use an actual grill, then the fat drips off, which is probably better.
Healthwise its the worst, economically it can get some good money. This is what I am talking about on the health part. McDonald's test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on6BSfHlK_w&feature=related
The first thing you can thank them for is giving you the ability to write, then write properly, and to think, and speak, and use a keyboard, and look at the screen, and look at a screen in a nice resolution, and so on and on and on.... we made your world, and you are part of that. Dont forget it!
As long as you don't constantly eat fast food you should be ok. It's unhealthy, however I understand that your taste buds crave it. Twice a week should be fine and fair. Maybe even 3 times if you work it off.
Economy= Really Good. Bring in extreme amounts of money.
To who? It aint helping me or you. Its not helping Joe who gets min wage and a company that doesnt care because of high staff turnover. Its not pouring anything back into the community!
Mine. I used the money I got working at McDonald's to buy a car. I am now able to drive to volunteer at a hospital, which gives me good job experiance and also is good for college applications (though it pays nothing...). Without McDonald's, I would still be riding the bus, unable to travel outside my neighborhood. I also wouldn't have been able to afford the laptop I'm currently using. And most people get paid more than minimum wage, depending on how long they work. Additionally, I bought my comp and my car locally, helping out those businesses as well.
Fast food is just plain bad in my opinion. Not only does the amount of money put into treating the health problems involved from eating it in excess outweigh the amount of money they put into the economy, but people would still buy food without fast food their money would go toward other food. It isn't like people would not spend the money used for fast food on other things.
