A lateral thinking puzzle is a puzzle where you have to think outside the box, and think of anything possible. In this thread I will give lateral thinking puzzles and you have to answer them. Every so often I will give a hint. I will keep score of the winners, and no using google, plz don't, it spoils the fun.

To figure out the answers, there may be a certain amount of yes or no questions for each one, and 1 or 2 hints for each one.

First Puzzle:

Jack and Jill were laying on the floor dead. The only things in the room were a broken bowl, and a puddle of water.

The hotel was named 9th floor and it really was really only 1 story high.

The balcony had high iron bars, and Mrs Brown could not have just fallen over them. Mr Brown pushed her over the edge.

Another Hint:

Mr. Jones (the one with the paper) knew Mr. Brown (the murderer) but had no idea about the murder until now.

Mr. Brown was in the room beside him.
He heard the smashing of a door and screaming.
He hadn't actually seen anything.
When he read the paper, it confirmed his suspicions.

That's my guess. Unless I come up with a logical answer randomly, I got nothing more for now.

He knew that Mrs. Brown was afraid of heights so she would never go onto the balcony willingly.

Maybe... Mr Jones was a construction worker, and Mrs Brown was blind. Mr. Jones purposefully built her house with a balcony and no rails. Since Mrs. Jones was blind, he walked up her own balcony, and it was Mr Jones's fault.

Mr. Brown was the murderer and they were in a hotel when it happened.

ugh that had so many typos. let me re-write that...

Maybe... Mr Jones was a construction worker, and Mrs Brown was blind. Mr. Jones purposefully built her house with a balcony and no rails. Since Mrs. Jones was blind, she walked off her own balcony, and it was Mr Jones's fault.

Oh wait... scratch that last one. Mr Jones and Mrs. Brown were husband and wife, but Mrs. Brown just didn't change her name after they wed. (I think that last part is grammatically correct) Mr Jones was a construction worker, and Mrs Brown was blind. Mr. Jones purposefully built her house with a balcony and no rails. Since Mrs. Jones was blind, she walked off her own balcony, and it was Mr Jones's fault.
Tada!
