No wonder I keep to that complaint forum.

WTF UTAH?!

A bill passed by the Utah House and Senate this week and waiting for the governor's signature, will make it a crime for a woman to have a miscarriage, and make induced abortion a crime in some instances.

Am I the only one that see the flaw in this, as in "many pregnancies end up in unintended miscarriage" and "Wow, thanks for putting the lady in prison for being hit by a car!"?
As someone else said:
Yeah, cause it's not like miscarriage is traumatic enough for a woman! Let's ARREST her to add to the trauma!

Wtf.

That's stupid. Same goes for making abortion a crime, you should have the right to get an abortion.

Miscarriage is not purposeful and probably not controllable either. But it isn't like Utah is the most reasonable place in the world; though, ironically, it was voted the happiest state in the country...

I will have to say, when I saw this, I thought 420 or some lunatic was making a joke. When I saw blue text I was like "wait a minute...this is real??"

Finally! A state legislature that is stupider than Indiana's! I don't feel sad about my state anymore!

Are you sure that they aren't confusing the two terms together into one singular definition? You know what I'm thinking...? That these guys aren't thinking.

Miscarriage = unintentional, sometimes biologically failed. Abortion = intentional. Should they seriously impose jail time for something nature intended to happen, or when an accident befalls them?

Woe to Utah if this law is passed; woe to America when other nations hear of this.

Well, all it takes for an abortion is now a little ride out of Utah...
And I think that this is an abuse. If a family will be crushed under bills for having a children, then it is a RIGHT to have an abortion.
Why make 4 people suffer?

huh? ^

Here's another thing. I guess these Utah legislators never considered the variable called science.

Chromosomes are in every cell in the body that carry all of the genetic material that determines many things, such as hair color, eye color, physique, and overall body makeup. These chromosomes duplicate themselves and divide many times during the process of development, and there are numerous points along the way where a problem can occur. When something drastically harms the genetic process, a miscarriage can occur. It doesn't have to be an accidental miscarriage; it can just be a natural experience. Certain genetic abnormalities are known to be more prevalent in couples that experience repeated pregnancy losses.

Should a law make people more afraid to have children? This is our right as humans and as an animal to have children. A certain Declaration declares that there can be no laws in effect that would harm us as a animal in its entirety.

No matter how great Indiana is doing, it's still Indiana, and you can't change that.

I really don't see why we don't just kick Utah out. Do we really need them?

Our legislative branch is stupid, but you gotta admit that at least in his first term, Mitch was an awesome governor. He totally destroyed the surplus he created in his 1st term in his 2nd, though.

Anyway, we oughta go beat up Utah. This is really stupid.

At least he got things done, that's the only thing I like about him. His first move was moving the time forward so that those across the street into Illinois was an hour past Indiana's time. Remember how I said that one of the state legislators is my teacher? He's a Democrat, and he's one of Mitch's hated enemies lol

Mitch is an ally of Duke Bennett and they are both trying to up the ante on school requirements and regulations, even though Indiana is one of the better schooling states. It won't affect me, but it will affect my children if this gets passed.

What's with all these stupid laws that are passing everywhere.

Australia banned small boobs from being in porno, the US court rules that corporations should be able to spend as much money as they can on elections, some other state requires you to tell the authorities that you intend to overthrow the government and pay a fine, and now this -_-

I really don't see what's wrong with this. If you read the Salt Lake City Tribune that the article you linked to links to, it clearly states that "a woman's 'intentional, knowing, or reckless act' leading to a pregnancy's illegal termination" would be made illegal. Miscarriage in itself is not made illegal; intentionally induced miscarriage is, but unfortunately the fine print doesn't make for a good headline.
