Would more of them be better for the site? What do the people of AG, along with the current mods think about it? Would it be better to have more or stay with what we have already? Of course I mean more active ones to go along with the current ones.
Eh...it wouldn't hurt to have more, but you know how the admins are: We gotta trust them 100%, make sure they are mature and capable enough to be mods, and make sure they will be mods for a long time. We can't be like Kongregate and allow hundreds of mods that either 1) don't do their jobs or 2) abuse them for the wrong reasons.
More is always better, but the admins like quality better than quantity. More mods = more-flexible time periods; enough of a mod team would mean a couple for the majority of the day all the time. It would also mean more to search through the comments of games to look for merit-worthy reviews. However, the admins don't want to just pick a few who would decide to quit weeks later because they weren't up to it, or decide to just not do the mods' duties altogether. Choosing the right one is a tough process, me thinks. :|
Also: Since Moe's retired, I guess there will be a time when admins will turn into stalking ghosts and find one among us that's right for the job. No signs of activity, yet watching us 24/7. It creeps me out just thinking about it! O_o
Wait, no, don't do that. My little brain couldn't comprehend doing that.
----------------
More mods would be nice, but people who actually care are hard to come by, while still being capable of doing the job. I'm sure a lot of us care, but we probably aren't capable of doing the job. We can dream, but if it came, we would die.
Dreams: "YAY! I'm a mod! I'm the best EVA! I'm the most popular mod ever! Everyone likes me because I'm dedicated 24/7!"
Real life: "D******! I'm a mod! NOOOOOOO!"
I don't know how bad it is until one actually explains it but I can imagine it for you. It's like...being one out of a hand full of police officers in a city, with a population of 6 figures. You are expected to keep the peace, even though there are less of you than other cities, and any wrong move can cause people to hate you, or hate the city itself for having such a shoddy justice system. As a police officer, you represent the power of that city and when you sign up as one, you dedicate most, if not, the majority of your time to protecting and enlightening the city as best you can.
AKA: it's like having a job with no pay and you get hate mail if you tick someone off.
I know, but some of us, have a boat load of time and actually care about the site. I know a few that could handle it if given the chance. But on here don't ask about it cause then you can't be given it. It comes through dedication and serving you AG members with respect.
Argumenting the 'having time' subject, I would say it is something needed to do the job, but somehow I don't see some of the mods online... ever! So how does that contribute to AG and to doing their job? :S
As for the hatemail, you could very well get that anyway when you tick someone off... it all depends on how mature you are to let that 'slide off' and do your job regardless...
Allthough more mods would be something favourable, it's not something that will likely be happening in the near future. They are picky (they point that out every single time they get the chance!) about who they would choose to become one. Most of all, I bet being a mod is a lot of work, more than us 'normal users' think it is and it involves quite a lot of online time with a lot of 'is this ok, or not' problems to face! People should think of that before accepting the mod-job... when asked by the admins of course... XD

Well, what would contribute as activity would be like posting a comment/post somewhere showing that you're on. Mods don't need to do that; some can just delete comments, lock, move, delete, and merit reviews without being shown that they are on. Of course, if you had superior deductive reasoning skills, you would pick out the correct mod. But knowing all that would label you some sort of stalker lol
I don't think we need any more mowds cuz honestly there is nothing extremely bad happening to the forum, like spam, trolling, flaming, nah not too much of that. And if we did have that we wouldn't need 20 mods trying to delete the same thing.
Ah, new mods... You know, I've been here for quite some time, and the only new mods I've seen are Zophia and Cenere. One of the things you cannot forget is that to become a mod you have to be here for a very, very long time. I think 3 years is basically the minimum, and a good merit amount along with the fact that you post constructive comments and forum posts.

That's true, the current mods seem to be able to take care of the site quite well. The only thing they loose control of is game spam, and that require a staff of about 10,000 (1 for every active spammer) users to keep clean.
but somehow I don't see some of the mods online... ever!
I use to think that too. And I remember asking Carlie about Estel, Moe, etc and she said they are sort of active, just we don't see them. But that info is over a year old, and if what Freakenstein says is true, that Moe is retired, then it proves that quite a few of the very old mods have gone to a better place (I am NOT suggesting they're dead).
I thought Gantic was made a mod before I came... yeah, I think so. Maybe shortly before I came.
I think that the mods are enough, cause the site does not have any real problems. Everything is fine.
I find I cannot disagree with that: There are enough mods. Though they get picked seldom and sometimes leave AG for long periods, the mod team is still strong enough to survive the waves of spam and mobs of flamers.
More mods would mean more people choosing merit worthy comments, also with more. Current mods wouldn't get thier profiles flooded with questions. Iknow if Dan was active in the forums stuff like this thread and the feedback would be more useful instead of just talking to the air about things that will never happen. Back in the day I know, if we made these types of threads they would of been listened to. But mods can't really change topics in the forums, as I was told by Gantic. So its only a blessing if a mod at least reads our thread but he can't do to much about it.
