I am a morbid believer in christ, and christianity. (The bible) I believe the bible, but some things in it are opinions placed in by the writers of it, not God.
you can only apply every word of the bible for those bible followers that follow EVERY word of it as if GOD himself wrote it, yes you should follow it but not %100. Humans wrote it and there are bound to be flaws, its the morals and stories that teach lessens we should be aware of. Simply classifying all homophobic people as ignorant is ironically ignorant itself, "if you don't support Iraq your a communist" these are false assumptions about a large goup of people based on no facts, therefore ignorant assumptions and stereotypes. I am homophobic, meaning i'm afraid of gays, not HATE GAYS, but merely afraid, like i will not sleep in a bed with one. Am i ignorant for that, i think not, some people are afraid of the dark are they ignorant? No, it is just a fear of being raped for me, and yes i know that not every gay likes every guy BUT the slightest chance of a man raping me and i'm out.

I love this answer. It states exactly what I was about to type, humans wrote the bible, and put what they thought he wanted. You can't follow everything, because humans make mistakes, and alot of the writing in there could be the opinions of the writers.

If so then your quite ignorant yourself. I'm afraid of snakes and heights, and i've studied snakes (through books). So even though I have knowledge on both of the subjects, i'm still afraid. This by itself proves your answer wrong.

Physical danger is different, there is really no way to counteract a fear of harm unless you happen to be born without much of your nervous system and common sense. Lack of knowledge does not make stupid and I did not say that. Had I realized that people would mistake the word motivated for caused, you probably would have gotten it how I planned though.

This is probably old news for some. But I figure I would post it here. I personally commend him for finally coming out of the closet. Being that he is a highly respected man I think this will help further tolerance for homosexuals.
