This is a discussion thread about Marijuana, Cannabis, Weed, Dank, 420, Pot. It is currently legal in a few states, though they are regulating the usage of it.

contrary to popular belief, weed doesnt cause cancer, it's like alcohol, impairs your motor skills. that's about it.

I figure you young kids will be eventually come into contact with it once you hit your college/high school years, and it would be good to dispel some wrong and wayward thinking brought on by the government.

so please have fun, ask questions, keep it lighthearted.

For others who partake in god's choice smokes please give me some of your favorite dank

Weed is legal in a couple of states, cali, colorado. up in Canada, Vancouver has legalized weed. Amsterdam too.

It's a great experience really, not advocating you should try it, since it is also quite the expensive plant (prices are artificially inflated in legalized areas also for government control purposes)

anyway
cheers

practically everything causes cancer

Too much of just about anything can give you cancer. I'm not saying it necessarily will, but it can.

If it doesn't give you liver/kidney failure first.

I don't actually know if this is true for marijuana, though, because I'm not sure about what kind of studies they've done on this sort of thing.

But I should get out of this topic now, because discussing marijuana with stoners is like discussing the negative impact of WWII with Nazis.

I find it ignorant that you assume the people discussing this topics are all stoners.

It's very ignorant. But ignorance is bliss, and I'd rather be happy than.....not be happy.

I personally have never smoked it. I think that by the time I'm 18, (I'm 14 now) Marijuana will be legalized.
The argument my mom has is that Marijuana is a gateway drug to things more serious like heroin or meth. This is a very viable argument, but I think if someone has any amount of intelligence, they wouldn't go on to drugs that actually have any effect on mental/physical health.

Am I correct in saying that usually (if it isn't mixed with tobacco) marijuana doesn't have the tar that makes cigarettes bad?

Correct, marijuana is a gateway drug, and it can be mixed with other addictive drugs or chemicals. It gets you addicted to the chemicals mixed in, not the marijuana itself, and it makes you want more of those chemicals, but you think you want marijuana, which is one of the reasons marijuana can be addictive.

*facepalm*

Ernie has no idea what he's talking about. It's not a gateway drug, it all depends on your personality.

I recently quit smoking after doing it for about a year. Cold turkey. No cravings, nothing.

It can be a gateway drug, because people can mix other drugs into it and get you addicted without knowing it. It's unpredictable, and it depends on where you get the marijuana, because there are some dealers out there who mix addictive chemicals in to make their customers keep coming back for more.

Say marijuana is a gateway drug is like saying milk led you to beer.

What you said is in no way shape or form true.

Also it is not addictive. That coke youre drinking is.

Ernie almost everything youve said is incoorect. You are misled from tv or your mom.

I think you're missing the point. Plain marijuana by itself is not addictive. The chemicals mixed into it are, and that's what you get addicted to when you smoke it. If you're lucky enough to find a dealer who doesn't mix chemicals into the stuff, you won't get addicted. But it's not uncommon for a dealer to mix in addictive chemicals so that the buyer gets addicted and craves those chemicals.

What chemicals are you talking about? Do you mean lacing it with other drugs? If that's what you mean then the dealer almost always tells people it's laced with something because it costs alot more.

Lacings don't always have to be illegal drugs. They could just be regular household chemicals that cost almost nothing, and the dealer wouldn't have to tell anybody about those.
