If it is real, it might not be about, earthquakes, meteors or the devil, or beasts or anything of the matter.
It might be us thinking its real and panicking. 2012 could be us killing eachother because we THINK it's going to happen, people would be robbing from stores, from eachother. People would go crazy and a mass panic will happen. Then battles break out, then wars break out, then nuclear wars break out, then we all die. Not because of the Mayans, or the bible, but because of our own selves.
That is completely untrue in the fact that there are websites like wikipedia that let anyone post anyhting on their site. It's possible that 2012 could just be a significant happening in the world... like us being energy efficient!! hint, hint.
I think that there is a possibility that 2012 will be caused by ourselves if it does happen. In said case, crazy people would be running around in gangs killing people, nuclear bombs would be wreaking havoc, and some would be committing suicide.
Another thing, just because a bunch of cultures agreed on the same date doesn't mean the world will end on that day, because these cultures have at least a dozen "end dates" each. The chances that three or four cultures will include the same date is actually pretty high. It's like that scenario where you take about thirty people and chances are, at least one pair will come up with the same birthday, because of all the possible combinations of birthdays.
Yet another thing, so what if the Myan long calendar ends? The short one starts over when it ends, what's to say that the long calendar doesn't start over?
Yes, the Mayan calendar ends. But why? No one knows. Maybe their beliefs somehow slightly changed? Or hell, maybe someone just got lazy. The only way we can know if it's true, is simply to wait and see.
Oh honestly, haven't you boned up on the Mayan calendar. They have different cycles. The one that ends in 2012 is a 'long cycle' and it starts again immediately after it ends. It doesn't just end for good.
