This isn't a bashing any certain genre or group of people that like certain genres. However, I've noticed that certain fans act in certain ways. More often, people who listen to genres of punk, ska, classic rock, and stuff like that tend to forum post in rational complete sentences with correct spelling. On the other hand, people who listen to newer music tend to... usoboifiyah- can n e1 tell me why this old ass crip usin red lol. kool song tho 18 minutes ago
Why is this? Is it as simple as those who listen to the former are older? I thought so too, but I've noticed it in younger people too.
If you look at youtube videos, this is especially prominent. Post your thoughts.
I listen to Rob Dougan with his Matrix Music (see what I did there?). I also listen to Globus, their songs Europa and Take me away only, I love those "zeal" moments.
And then I may spend more time watching Matrix Scenes on You-Tube.
Then again I rarely listen to Weird Al, and if you realise I've typed this fast and correctly in nearly every way I suppose.
I always like typing it correctly as i find it a better relief to people without straining their m9d, C what eye did there?
It was always suggested to listen to classical music while studying, especially for exams. I don't think folks who listen to the currently "hot" music would agree. As for grammar being in direct relationship to the music being listened to I know that I type faster and cleaner,(no errors) if I'm listening to Jazz, Blues or Rock. All in all, I think people type the way they speak and it's just an interesting coincidence that they might favor one music genre over another.
Maybe its just how people are today. Because rap sounds different people spell it in that way so they sound cool. 4 ex. dey like 2 use shortcuts lots. so they also dont need to type alot too.
I don't really think music has an impact on a person's grammar. The level of maturity a person has does affect it though. A lot of people I know who listen to rap aren't really mature. You could mistake them for a bunch of elementary school kids if you read something they wrote. Alternatively, people who listen to something like classic rock, or jazz normally are mature, or seem like it.

I don't even know why this topic was made. It's basically asking for arguments, bashing, and people offending others.
Anyway, I listen to 'new' music, and I think I have good grammar. And I don't think people are idiots for using shortcuts on the internet. It isn't like they're writing a novel, they're just chatting.
I think people see this because people who listen to 'new' music want to fit in and be cool. it's apparently cool to typ lik this an u fit in rlly good. People who listen to less popular music don't really care as much about fitting in and being cool, if their music can be an indication.
This as in "This post is 100% true and I wholeheartedly agree with it and pretty much finishes the thread so everyone can stop posting and we can move on with our lives."
I think it's typically just the intelligence of the person. I listen to all genres of music for the most part and have a rather high I.Q. and enjoying expressing my intelligence. However, some people, even if they have just as high of an i.q., don't care how people think about them. Another entirely logical possibility is that abbreviations make things faster.

Quite paradoxal, as Punk etc can be new too. Though I get your point.
I think it's partially because rockers and mettlers have a different lifestyle than others. I think rap teachers their followers to talk like shit, whilst rock and metal songs usually have proper lyrics. Also, rockers and mettlers often tend to be more active at computers than others, which teaches them to write properly?
