So. Are humans really natural beings of Earth, or are we a colony of a species on a different planet? Did we naturally evolve, or were we genetically engineered? As Crick said, it's more likely that a hurricane blowing through a jungle will make a jumbo jet than that DNA naturally formed in a time frame of 500-600 million years.

are you serious? am not writing a paper or something and im not being closed minded to fact either. find it yourself u think i had someone tell me where to look im sure your smart enough. ( with u trying to spell check me) We as humans never want to admit we are wrong or we dont know something. Some scientists dont want to admit it they are human too. ex. thought the world was flat wrong; earth center of solar system wrong; center of galaxy wrong; every new line we cross we find something new. just not too long ago invisibility was impossible now guess what its not

Even genetically we can do things now that would put dr frankenstein to shame. And its funny how our ancestors had the imagination to forsee this and that they could somehow see stars we are just now able to see. Hmmmm i wonder how they did they did it?

Ummm... Those were things the Church claimed. When scientists said the world wasn't flat and the earth wasn't in the center, they were killed for heresy.

And I'm not going to research on my own, because I can't really evaluate what you are referring to exactly, and what not; also I'm lazy right now. I don't want you to write a paper, I just want a link or two. I mean you didn't find those things out on your own, you must have read it somewhere. Just link me to there.

I must acknowledge that it is intriguing how for example the mayas could observe the night sky; I read somewhere that they might have had their knowledge from the Olmecs, which doesn't solve the question. But I personally don't think there must be such a bizarre explanation behind all that. We don't know a thing about that so what gives us the right to jump to conclusions? The fact that we don't have a clue how they got their knowledge doesn't mean that "aliens did it". Let's wait until we have a concrete clue, if it is pointing to the existence of alien ancestors then so be it. But I refuse to invent or join assumptions on the sole base of not being able to explain it.

If you have some time, I would invite you to inform yourself about the endosymbiontic theory. Here is the Wiki article, I just browsed over it and it seems to be what I mean. Particularly interesting is the Evidence section.
Another food for thought: evidence of us having aquatic ancestors is found in our very cells. Cellular plasma has high concentrations of sodium and chloride, like in sea water. And the extraembryonic fluids, like amniotic fluids for example, are also relicts of our aquatic past.

I think people who belive we came from an alien species need to find the line between science and science fiction.

Actually the basic concept really isn't all that far fetched. We have already seen that bacteria can survive being launched into space and coming back just fine.
However the evidence at hand indicates life developed right here.

I think we were a discovery and from then on the aliens tampered with our DNA. The book Chariots of the gods is a real interesting book to read. A colony though? I don't think so.

We don't find any such evidence of this though.

Just a theory of mine. I have multiple. What do you think?

I don't think it fits with what we observe in the fossil records. When it comes to human evolution we have a pretty smooth gradient. If aliens came down and messed with our DNA we should see a break in that gradient.

I must say that you have good imagination but the chance of us being a colony of some extraterrestrial species is practically 0. Humans actually have a common ancestor with chimpanzees but we branched out from them at about 6 million years ago and anatomically humans appeared about 200,000 years ago, reaching behavioral modernity at around 50,000 years ago and also there is no evidence of 'Aliens messing our DNA' a stated by Mr.MageGrayWolf.

Perhaps the chimpanzees were a colony of alien species?

I don't think we're a colony of aliens, but I certainly recognize the remote possibility that, sometime in our history, we were influenced by outer beings...

I believe that there is a small chance that they are. I do believe in aliens though.
