some rock may be about sex, but not really about drugs, I choose rock
I'm a bit confused by your statement. You've already stated The Beatles wrote on the topic drugs, but what about Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Rush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. If anything, I personally feel that the topics that rappers choose to make music with have already been made popular by the famous rock musicians that preceded them.
Well EXCUSE me delos,I don't exactly study how rap is made. Honestly though, rock still takes much more skill to play. Harder drums,it has guitar(which is the most skill-requiring instrument) and, usually harder singing. Not just the same rhythm over and over singing.
Haha, what a joke. Rap is the 2nd hardest genre to play, and rock is the 5th? I know rappers and their beats are computer generated. Plus, rap drumsets(if they are used) are like rock band drumsets xD You don't even have to hit it right really, it always generates a sound when you hit it.
I listen to rock waaaay more...but I do like to listen to Jay Z once in a while.
Jay-Z was almost before my time, so I appreciate what he did for the scene, but I'm not exactly into it. As far as Rock is concerned, I'm much more into Prog Rock more than anything else.
I know rappers and their beats are computer generated
im trying really hard not to call names now......
dude seriously im a drummer and i know alot more then you do probably. lol rock beats are seriously easy. its all at a 120 BPM (if you even know what that is) and its super slow easy rythms. i mean i play it my band ya but its not nearly as hard as hip hop drumming.
its not computer generated for your information rappers like kanye, young maney, lil wayne, etc. surround themselves with the best live drummers around. and it may be computer generated, but have you ever heard of an electric drum set, ya its like a real drum set only sounds better and has multiple sttings

it depends in band. Some rock bands have really complex beats eventhough the majority don't. Overall, hip pop is probably harder than rock. Quick question, are their any rappers that use guitars and have guitar solos? I want to see how they sound
