I hear ya trumpetfury i got really mad too. I mean they killed roach! the new character! And Ghost! He was the coolest one out of all of them! But it was pretty awesome with Shepard. Also when you found price, in wasn't expecting that.
the saddest video game ending for me was in SGSW when you kill the bad evil leader and then you find out that he was your old commander and that you killed him.
Metal gear solid 3. Hands down. I wept like there was no tomorrow, sobbing and screaming. No, seriously. It was so sad.

inFAMOUS, I hated Kessler, so did Cole! And they were the same person! It's even more sad on infamous mode because everybody hates you and Trish dies hating you, it sucks.
Wow lol I didn't realise I already posted on this, I was gonna say to the guy who I quote here:
Nintendo has some of the best sad ending to their games. If any of you ever played Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and got to the end where Shadow sacrifices himself. That's a pretty sad and somber moment right there when they start talking about him.

And i still stick with Mass Effect 2, but I haven't played GoW3 and I really want to but then again I don't have a PS3 (except my fathers ) so it might not be worth the money
The only game that has ever made me cry as a kid was Klonoa: A door to phantomile, for the Ps1. I still play it every now and then because it is so joyful and enjoyable. It's the cutest game ever ^^.

One of the saddest would have to be in Pikmin 2 when Cpt. Olimar leaves for Hokkotat too fast and leaves Louie down in the planet that is inhospitable for him. Then he just looks at him taking off while he suffers :'(
