I am short on time, so I will keep it short and sweet. For you Christians, were is heaven?

Many modern Christians state that heaven is a place that we can not reach in the physical world. If that is true, than how does the tower of Babel make since?

In the binging of Christianity the Christians believed that heaven is in the sky, as the name and tower of Babel suggest. Then once human were able to fly, Christians said it was further out in space. Once we were able to send satellites into space, they said it was not in the physical realm.

So to recap, were is Christian heaven, how does the Tower of Babel make since if it is not close enough to build to, and to add, if the Tower of Babel story is a metaphor to you could you please state what it is a metaphor for?

So, he mixed up their language and sent them off into different continents

it can be seen as man trying to unite into one culture. by god spreading them apart and ( giving them each a language) god essentially created culture according to the tale....

The tower of babel is simply a creation story explaining the origin of language, this is much like many of the genesis stories

I am also short on time, otherwise I might explain in more detail...

Awfully short on evidence and arguments based in logic too.

Im starting to believe that the bible was a novel (the first novel) and since it was so fantastic, it was received the wrong way.

Personally, my opinion is, the Sun.

Yes, you heard me correctly, the sun. We can't directly look at it, it's incredibly bright, huge, and yeah...

I have the same idea. I mean its so hot anything near it would burn up and so far there's not a thing we have made to withstand that heat.

And how does that tie in to the idea that heaven is on the sun?

not sure, but you know those little christian pamplet books that have different things??? If you do know what im talking about, i found one once and the dude died then an angle grabbed the hand of his soul and flew him into OUTER SPACE, and the guy said "omgies i though heaven was on earth, up in the clouds?" and the angle dude gave no response, and then they landed on like a big white floor area with a stare case, and the dude was naked which was a bit disturbing and distracting. In other words who the hell made that book

In ancient times, it would've been thought that the sun simply floated within our own atmosphere, which explains how the ancients would have thought they could reach heaven. Next to that the sun is in the physical world, yet it is at the moment quite unreachable and probably will be for all time. So I have to say I agree with that idea, now all we need to do is actually find a devout christian who'll die and come back to us with details. The pope perhaps?

And how does that tie in to the idea that heaven is on the sun?

I think he's just pointing out that difficulties that would be there as protection for the gates of heaven.

Only god knows where heaven is. If you have nothing better to do than nag at christians for actually being correct, then all I have to say to you is get a life.

umm.. why would heaven need protection? isn't that where god lives? and isn't he supposed to be omnipotent?

Mind elaborating on that? Or better yet, why don't you submit your evidence so it can be tested, verified, and reviewed. Then we will know you are correct.

Where is Heaven? When did it come into existence? Looking at the scripture it reads.

Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." -NIV

But this is an incorrect translation.

A closer translation would be,
"In the beginning Elohim (Gods) were created, the sky and land"

This is would suggest originally the sky was quite clearly related as being heaven.

Didn't he promise to not interfere with human civilization? (after the flood of course) I'm not sure though since I've never actually read the bible, I'll have to do that one day. But anyways his making us unable to reach it would be breaking his own rules, so he set up a protection that we'll probably never circumvent. Of course this could all get very confusing when the sun burns out in about 5 billion years.

Only god knows where heaven is. If you have nothing better to do than nag at christians for actually being correct, then all I have to say to you is get a life.

Once you prove definitively that Christians are the bearers of the holy truth, I'll gladly listen to you until then...to put it bluntly put a sock in it!
