This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

There are no words
From the dead
The ones who have limits
The ones who can't be exposed
To the rain
The black, cold rain

Why do I feel this way

Why do I feel this way?
My face is growing warm
When I thought I was
as cold as ice.

My heart is beating loud
When I know I felt it die
Spluttering to a stop.
A heavy weight inside.

My words are odd and soft,
Though they're usually sharp,
Biting like a needle.
What happened to my voice?

Perhaps it's a poison
I knew you were my bane.
But then again
How do you make me feel alive?

Waiting for the light

Multicolored stars,
shine everyday,
in the dark balck night.

Multicolored stars,
I watch you every night,
just like a kite in daylight.

Multicolored stars,
you're like crayonbox to me,
oh,how I'd love to see,
you on my little paper,
so that my eyes could see.

Multicolored stars,
you fill my eyes with dreams,
until the clouds come,
and cover you up,
till tomorrow.

Creeping through the darkness
Of my cluttered mind.
My endless thoughts fly 'round me,
Lost in my own imagination.

As I wander to a corner,
Where darker feelings reside.
They come back to haunt me,
For they know I strive to forget.

Yet I escape their cold, cold clutches,
For the comfort of the light.
My thoughts console me,
For even in darkness, there is hope.

For Things To Come

Feel free to change that a bit, for I think it might work better as a title and not the first line.

Sorry, Bunneh, but that's an impossible first line. :/
I'll give it my best shot though....though I had to change some things around....

I stand vigil at the peak
Of a mountain ever bleak
Stained by blankets of dark gray.

I am prepared for the worst
The starved demons with bloody thirst.
"Fight with all your strength" I say.

My feet dig into wintry snow
Waiting for the fears I know
For all the days to come.

Demons rise; I'll stare you down
You'll never take my rusted crown
For all the things to come.

Bleh.

I bow my head to you

Called it.

I bow my head to you,
For all the stars shine,
Catching upon your radiant glow.

As the world falls around us,
It is that nothing will matter,
For you are the light in my head.

I bow my head to you,
Since when everything falls,
You will always remain.

*grumbles about the bad quality of my poem*

As I look out

As I look out.
Out of the windowsill.
I wonder, I wonder 'bout
That girl up the great big hill.

Her hair, black as the night, falling down to her hips.
Her crystalline emerald eyes filled with the innocence of a child
Her sweat soothing voice from her fine pink lips.
She lays down on the grass as her white robe flows with the wind so mild.

We share a glance, a single glance.
She smiles as I blush by the windowsill
I'm quickly pulled from my revery as she shares a dance.
A waltz with a man by the great big hill.

I realize that the smile wasn't meant for me,
I'm the poet. I write about love while others live it. I quickly grab my quill and take a sip of tea.

Next line: All things must come to an end.

And yes I know the last lines a little off, but I had to make it rhyme.

All things must come to an end
All things must reach it's end(scape), the curtain must fall, the fat lady must sing, we must all breathe our last breath.
Hopefully once u and i DO finally come together u would have hopefully lived an enjoyable life, married, found wife, gone to school, stayed cool, and lived your happily ever after.
Although sadly in life that may not always be the case.... but i do hope u found your place...

To the stars u may go.

Past the golden woods,
To the gate of time.
Beyond the glass lake,
To the mountain on rhyme.

Fantasy lands,
With impossible things.
Like a huge bird,
With flaming wings.

Bleh. I might finish it later.

Exploring (insert whatever you want)

Explore the great unknown, child
Don't tie yourself down deep
Go off into the world, child.
Venture to the mountains steep.

Take your sword and cape;
Your trusty steed as well
Grab your wooden staff
Your cap with its old bells.

Perhaps you'll find a pot of gold
Or a fountain filled with youth.
Maybe you'll just get a magic pond
That only ever speaks the truth.

Do all of this child,
Before you're just like me
My mind is all tied down
There is no room to breathe.

You'll find that your cape
Is nothing but a old white sheet.
And that your steed of war
Is a dog found on the street.

So listen to me, child.
Listen to what I say.
Or you'll regret it
When you're at this day.

Keep Dreaming

Keep dreaming,
They all say,
And one day it will come true.
But they never mention,
What you will have to do.

Maybe they don't know,
But at the least they could try.
Instead of leaving you,
Stranded, to die.

Not a hint or a clue.
There is simply,
Nothing you can do.

They tell you to dream,
Of impossible things.
Shoot for the moon,
You'll land with the stars.
But they won't tell you,
Tell you just how far.

They send you on a raft,
Made from the hearts bliss.
Love can withstand all, right?
With love, you can't miss.
That's what they think,
As they send you on your way.
Nothing to ne afraid of,

That's what they think,
As they send you on your way.
Nothing to be afraid of,
Love will make sure you're okay.

Then you run into a storm,
And it changes very fast.
Turns into a horrid form,
Your raft will not last.

Love is overcome,
By what the world calls hate.
You jump from your raft,
You can't wait for it to abate.

Bleh, I had more, but I can't remember it.
