This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.
Fireworks, lighting up the sky tearing it, rending it, clawing and burning it gashing a hole open wide open wide the hole takes the sky by surprise eats the stars the moon the sun even and guess whats on the other side of the cast-away sky? ________________________ fluffy neon teddy bears! hug them before they fry your head!
My shoe Smells like a lime, I observed as I knelt To pick up a dime. The value I felt, Of this observation, Was lesser than zilch, As I glanced at the time.
The bus pulled up And reminded me quickly Of my advanced hunger; I was feeling quite sickly. The banner, like thunder, Rang out in my stomach - A half-pound sandwich, It proclaimed, quite slickly.
GIMME A BLOODY SANDWICH, At the lunch lady,I yelled loudly. Who pulled out a metal tray And swung it profoundly. SON OF A BEAVER, She screamed, kicking my ***, And I left the cafeteria, With my stolen sandwich, proudly.
I heard a whisper all alone. I saw ghost all by myself. I felt a shadow in the dark. And thats when I relized, that these senses had come alive. The whisper had made my ears bleed. The ghost had pushed my eyes back into my head. And the shadow had strangled me into a sleep. When I had awoken these demons were gone. Cowards to afriad to meet me in day. Until night, where I would die again.
I went splat and it was too green As I landed upon the scene; The color seemed to fade Into a darker shade; Then the sky began to glow And the truth began to show; Everything had a brighter tint, Then I died on the pavement.
I was waiting for a train, I said to myself, "No pain, no gain," And as the train came to a halt, I lunged, I jumped, I made a vault.
Across the tracks I tumbled lightly, The trains spotlight, shimmered brightly, And as I saw the figure that was myself crumble, I heard the groan of Death's hollow rumble.
And surely as my spirit descended, I felt a tug as my body was mended, And as the paramedic brought life to my spirit's vessel, I saw God's hand reach out, and with him I wrestled.
"Let me go," I said, hatred in my eyes, "I Am who I Am," Who Am I, that you should despise. I crafted your body in your mother's whom, And now I raise your life from Death's tomb.
I was there when the universe was created, You were not alone as you wandered, You were not allowed to die when it was not your time, Even now, I shall not leave your side. Your desperation for a different life... Did I not create you, With every detail of your life in mind? Who are you that should decide what your life should be? But even as I let you go your way, I was the one who decided your path, And even now as you attempt to leave my path again, You shall not leave what I have made for you, For I Am who I Am. You shall not be what you want to be, For your flesh merely deterred you, From who you were meant to be. I have made you a vessel, To show the world, That I Am who I Am.
Awestruck, I breathed another breath, My empty life was no longer Death, And Death became no more a part of me. That very day, I became Free.
