Haha, I bet I sound like a total dork, making a thread about Light Sabers. Anyways I'm watching the Star-Wars marathon, and I'm seeing all kinds of lightsabers, Green, Blue, Purple, Red. And I wanted to clarify what the colors meant. Like Red is bad, right? And everything else is good? And why is there only one guy with a purple one? Please elaborate, because I'm watching this and I want to make sure that I at least understand the Light Saber concept.

The three general colors of a Jedi's lightsaber: blue, yellow, and green, were primarily used to identify a Jedi's class, Guardian, Sentinel, and Consular respectively.
Guardian favoured agressive solutions to problems, and a mastery of lightsaber combat. Consular diplomacy and mastery of the force. Sentinel a blend of the two.

Hahahahaha, well thanks, for the information it comes in handy when your watching the movies. And as for the nerdiness, well we all have a bit of that.
I believe the yellow, Sentinels, are the ancient Jedi who found the Saber Crystals, way before the events of the first episode. The red lightsabers were also used at the time for the Sith lords.
In the movies, I've never seen a yellow lightsaber.
Like I said, yellow lightsabers were used way before the events of the movies. They're used in the video games I think, and maybe the books, but you can't see what color the sabers are in the books so idk.

I've read comic books where I haven't seen a single blue lightsaber, but tons of yellows.
Anyway, yes the certain types of Jedi were assigned certain crystals for their lightsaber. They did not mhave to use that color however. To my knowledge, the natural crystals were blue, yellow and green.

i think thats pretty much somes it up,ive never seen a bad guy,with blue,purple,or green! lightsaber,and i thought this thread was about lifesavers the candy!lolz
