Haha, I bet I sound like a total dork, making a thread about Light Sabers. Anyways I'm watching the Star-Wars marathon, and I'm seeing all kinds of lightsabers, Green, Blue, Purple, Red. And I wanted to clarify what the colors meant. Like Red is bad, right? And everything else is good? And why is there only one guy with a purple one? Please elaborate, because I'm watching this and I want to make sure that I at least understand the Light Saber concept.
There are quite a few other classes, but you can look those up on the wiki that I provided, I'm not going to spend all of the time here describing them.
Wow, I feel like such a nerd reading these posts...still, I always was kinda confused about where all the lightsabers' different colours came from. Or I did, in fifth grade, when everyone was obbsessed with Star Wars, though now I don't know what fifth graders are obbsessed with.
As for why there is only one purple light saber: The actor who played Mace Windu asked for it specifically when he took the job. He originally had a green or blue one.
Also, in the force unleashed, there was a black light saber (black blade with white glow) which is awesome. (btw, TFU2 is coming out 10/26/10 in US, cant wait)
For the movies they just used a metal pole with lights covering the surface. They used different lights for the different weapons.
I kinda want to know why Darth Sidius can shoot the electircity out of his fingers and nobody else seems to be able to. I am assuming that it is because he is Sith, but then why can't Vader do that?

So he was like "Give it to me or I quit!" I think that's pretty darn cool.
