A couple girls beat a girl up with objects, and fists. Also a couple boys where on guard when they did it. She was unconscious when they were done. Theses people might go to jail for like 30 years. They planned to post it on My space and you tube. When the FCC took a look at the websites, they were filled with inappropriate material they said. This Material might cause other people to act like the girls did. the FCC claims.
I think that in thirty days is when they are going to make their final decision.
I bet that Myspace and youtube are not shut down because:
That would be taking away our first amendment rights. The sites are used world wide It was only a couple kids that did the crime
Id be pretty alright with it if they got shut down... Im sick of little girls posting porn on MySpace and trying to get my fiance to be their friend.
Seriously? Go work a corner or something.
And if we get rid of YouTube/MySpace, hey, maybe Ill get something done in school instead of being a dork. Because who really wants to *talk* to your friends when you can faux-talk to them on a sparkly, obnoxious website?
I find it highly doubtful that the FCC would make ANY attempt to shut down these websites for content... The internet is a wide open space, with plenty of other concerns out there. If the FCC wanted to eliminate ALL the innapropriate content from the internet, they would never succeed. I have to say that Myspace and Youtube are doin pretty good because they do attempt to activly filter thier content. If they FCC were to target anything why not go after "adult" sites? If we can have those sites on the internet with no problem, what is so bad with myspace and youtube? doesnt make any sense does it? Also, id like to know where this claim came from, and any sources used to come up with this, because I have heard nothing of this claim from any reputable source.
Hm, I wonder if parallels could be drawn to the recent trends in LiveJournal management.
On one hand, it's also a site with significant traffic that is undergoing restrictions on content due to 'meddling politics'...but on the other hand it's not because despite LJ being a social networking site, it is now treated more as a commodity than anything else by those who maintain it.
Are there any similar such concerns with such places as youtube etc.?
Well, Myspace would probably just piss others off, and they'd run to facebook. And the same mess would happen there.
Also, Youtube is a different story. If that was shut down there wouldn't just be riots in schools, we'd have an American Revolution. Rebel against the FCC for our freedome, Long Live Youtube. :P
