I saw this topic about burnt to death or freeze to death and i thought, what would you choose, no arms or no legs?

I would choose no arms, because you can still walk and run, but it's very difficult because people have to help you a lot, you can't wash yourself without your arms..

Either way i think it's very unpleasant..

So did you check out the link?

It's not pushing through...it's adrenaline, I've actually seen one of those 'mother lifts car off of her baby scenarios' except in my case it was a father who literally lifted half wall so his daughter could crawl out. It was the most ridiculously amazing thing that I've ever seen.

No It wasn't adrenaline that blocked the pain. It was my determination to complete the job. Once it was done I couldn't stand cause I was in immense pain. n I looked at the video n thought she's flexible

I've seem that. A mother lifts a car, when her sun got stuck under there.

And that mother must have been about 50 or something!

Maternal instincts can cause parents to overwork their capabilities to the limit so that they can save their loved ones or children

That things are so amazing, but yea it's really the adrenaline that keeps the pain from coming:P when the adrenaline stopped i guess that mother must have had pain in her back/ arms for like a week xD

in saw they used that matter, making everyone do crazy things to live.. it's weird how much you do to live!

It's not adrenaline, or detirrmination that blocks out pain. It's a hormone that the brain sends out to the spine that blocks the nerv-signals from the bady to the brain.

Lol isn't it also adrenaline? Like when you are sporting, and you get a scratch you won't notice the pain, untill after you finished.. but maybe that's also because first you didn't see it and you can feel the pain when you see it.. something mental:P

Well I must have a lot of it.. When I'm playing Aussie rules when I get a bad bump to the head I just get back up only for it to hit me after the game.. But then how do you explain after completing the kokoda track that I could barely walk with my injury yet I walked just fine with that injury for two days.. I could only explain it as determination

@vontje

But it's happened. Like once a woman fell of a cliff. And she survived but broke some bones and couldn't move. Then the adrenaline kicked in and made her stronger. But she still couldn't move. Then the brain released that hormone and the pain went away and she was able to drag herself to a nearby road, and there she found help.

it amazes me everytime again what people can do! Just like there's a pogramm on tv and someone was doing a show with 2 whales. He sat on one of them but the other one jumped to early and he jumped on that men, the men was trapped between the two body's and he broke almost every bone in his body. With one little piece of bone he was held togheter:O but he survived! So amazing

Yes but did you know much like the brain out muscles are never used at their full capacity, usually on 65-70 percent is used.

When you're in a situation where you're either in danger or hurt badly, your brain triggers the body to release a mixture of endorphins and adrenaline, this is what enables the 'mom' level strength. The endorphins are the blockers KFK is talking about, which are not actually blockers but pain relievers. That with the mixture of adrenaline allows us to shrug off broken bones and keep moving.

No legs. Like as what other people have already said, I'd be in a wheelchair. I'll be like Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump.
