With so many useless and repetitive threads around here, it is so hard to get any decent threads that will last a long time. There are some, however, that do make it, but there really aren't that many at all since so many are useless.

Just wondering why everyone comes up with topics that are the same as a few pages back (can't you check?), and why only few can make it to the popularity stage, and why do they make it there?

It would make the site more caotic.

I don't make a lot of topics anymore so yeah.

I don't recommend the forum search it's not really a thing you can depend on. Just pointing that out.

Yes Google, it does make the site caotic. Caotic.

Creating repeat threads makes the site chaotic too.

Funny searching something and then see 10 topics named almost the same thing.

Duplicate threads, spamming, flaming, and trolling can make the site 'chaotic'. Excessive cap posting and bold posting as well. Excessive alt making as well...heh...

They all do.

Is there anyone else here that opposes thread revival?

I don't oppose it. I only oppose it if it's a pointless revive err I mean necro. Or whatever.

But I know what you mean. 'Necessary revival'

Yes.

While I don't always see necessary revivals, some of them are good ones. Even if they're only to bring back discussion. They do so validly and in an interesting way. Which is more than just saying the word "bump".

Some threads need bumps. Some need new ones.

Old old threads (Page 100 +) Need new threads.

Forgotten GOOD threads need bump. And like knight said to bring discussion in.

Not necessarily. I don't believe there is a specific cut-off page or date. What you can't or can revive should be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Any thread can be revived, as long as you keep the discussion rolling. My personal record is a 7 month old thread. It was never locked for necroing, becaaaaaause it was deemed okay

Although if you cannot find the "original thread", I heard talk from one mod that "anything past page 6 is fair game". I forget whom.

Well, that's the opinion of that mod. Best to exhaust all methods possible when searching for an original thread.

Though for us with good memory, we'll recall repeats of originals made way before page six.

And that one mod you're talking about must be Zoph.

People have made custom google searches for this site, I use them whenever I make my threads but I don't know if anyone else does.
