Okay, so here's the arpeg. What do you think? Battlefront 1861
Battlefront: The military sector in which actual combat takes place. The American Civil War began on April 12, 1861 when the Confederate assault on Fort Sumter brought tensions between the northern states of the USA and the southern states of the USA to a boil, finally kicking off the bloodiest conflict in United States history, and in only four years had claimed the lives of anywhere between 618,000 to 700,000 Americans. Now, it is your turn to enter the war. You must fight for the Confederates or the Union, and turn the tide of the War Between the States.
Name: First and last name, please. Middle name optional. Do not include rank. Age: 14-60. Neither army was very picky about who they allowed to enlist. They needed everyone they could get. Side: Confederate or Union. Home State: Not required. Connected to "side". Rank: Private, unless your class is Officer, in which case you start off as a Lieutenant. Health: 50/50 Class: Look below to see the classes. Skill: See "Classes" Perk: You can have one perk. Check below, in Perks. Weapon: See "Classes". Clothing: Confederate Uniform or Union Uniform, according to your side, Haversack(kind of like a backpack, it's what you carry your stuff in). Other Equipment: Bedroll, Canteen, Rations[1 week]. For the rest, see Classes. Allies/Troops: See Classes.
Classes(all the classes are the same for either side). Cavalryman: The horse-riding branch of the military. Used as reconnaissance, or to harrass the enemy slowly but surely, so that they will either slow down or stop. Starts out with a Trained Horse, a Pistol[2/2], and a Saber. Skill is "Horsemanship", the ability to train a horse for battle, and skillfully ride it. Officer: The high-ranking commanders of the battlefield. Used as an in-combat commander, the Officer not only commands troops, but can take out enemies of their own. Starts out with a Saber, a Pistol[2/2], and 10 Troops. Skill is "Command", to control troops on the same side as you to do what you tell them to. Infantryman: The on-foot backbone of the war. Used for nearly everything, from defense to offense to drawn-out battles. Starts out with a Musket[5/5], and a Bayonet. Skill is "Sharpshooter", the ability to reload your weapon faster and aim more accurately. Artilleryman: The "big guns" of the war. The artillerymen must work as a seamless team, because it takes five or so people to operate a cannon, but when it works, it can take out nearly anything. Used for offense or defense. Starts out with a Cannon, a Snake(sharp, swordlike tool that they use to load the cannon, but can also be used as a makeshift weapon), Flint and Tinder, 5 allies, and a Knife. Skill is "Heavy Artillery", which is the ability to load and fire cannons and mortars accurately and more quickly than untrained people trying to operate them. Other: You can create your own class, HOWEVER, it must be approved by me. Please attempt to make it historically accurate and do not make it overpowered.
Perks: A perk is a little something extra. You can gain perks throughout the game by doing amazing feats, but most of you are going to end up with only the perk you pick at the beginning, so choose wisely! Your perk(s) are what set you apart from other soldiers just like you. Sharp: Players with the "Sharp" perk are more skilled with a sword, and can wield it much more efficiently than soldiers without the perk. Resiliency: Players with the "Resiliency" perk are not only more resistant to disease, but if they do get it, it does less damage and goes away quicker. Plus, they can go longer without food, water, and sleep without feeling the effects. Squeaky Clean: Players with the "Squeaky Clean" perk automatically take much better care of all their weapons, meaning they're less likely to malfunction(and blow up in your face). Locked and Loaded: Players with the "Locked and Loaded" perk are better with small arms like pistols, meaning they're more accurate with a pistol and fire faster. Other: As with classes, you can make your own perk, but also as with classes, it must be accurate, not overpowered, and must be approved by me.
Also: I know that in the Civil War, disease actually killed many more people than bullets. However, just to make this interesting, you can and must find some way to make sure that your character doesn't get sick(they will, just not with a fatal disease, as long as you take precautions. If you have Resiliency, chances are you won't even get a minor disease). So, read up, and find out how you can save your character's life with some common sense!
Moderators: This game will start out with one moderator, Piester22, who helped me create this RPG by supplying accurate historical information. He can play the game, but can also respond to other players' scenarios(of course, Pie, you should be fair or you won't be a mod for long) and will also be giving you a dossier before each battle. As the game goes on, I may or may not add more moderators.
Any questions, comments, suggestions, or anything, feel free to post!

Journal of Pvt. Nickrov Krashklinkov April 10, 1861 I've just been transferred to Fort Sumter, in South Carolina. Apparently, the commanders are getting worried about the Rebels down south, and they want more soldiers posted down there just in case. I really don't see what the problem is, in fact, I almost feel sorry for them. If they lose to the Union, they'll lose everything they own. But none of that was happening when I enlisted maybe a year ago. I was posted farther up north, and stayed there for the duration of my time, that is, until now. Before that, I was in training. I trained for longer than most people get nowadays. The tutors just rush people through because they want more soldiers, more soldiers, for the same reason I'm posted in this disgusting humid warm weather down south instead of the nice, crisp coolness of up in Maine; paranoia. They're all so worried about the Confederates, they're not bothering to train new recruits properly! Even in my properly-trained class, I was the best shot by far, and when I passed through(with ease, of course), I was assigned a special duty; sharpshooter, given a new gun, and even a sight! I was very surprised; sights were very rare, and expensive too, but I accepted the gift. Not that it really mattered. The only combat I'd be seeing was between the two meatheads in the messhall over the last bit of custard. You know, I really miss home. Here, you're either bored or you're sick. *end of page 1*.
*flip to page 2* April 12, 1861 This day started out normal enough, but it's just turned insane! The Rebels have attacked our fort; I guess I was wrong about the generals being paranoid. I had just grabbed my weapon and haversack, then put on my uniform, when I heard the enemy outside. "Surrender, Yankees!" bellowed a voice I recognized as Gen. Beauregard. "Or we will open fire!" "NEVER!" roared my commander. Then, the Rebels started firing their cannons at our fort. So far, it was holding together, but that wouldn't last forever. *end of page 2*. What will you do?

Hmmm...do not think I do not see that name. I do. -.<
Journal of Lt. Samuel L. Jackson of the Confederate Army July 21st, 1861 I had enlisted in the Confederate Army immediately after my home state of Georgia seceded. What choice did I have? It was that, or have all my possessions taken, absolutely everything I owned, stolen by the Yankees, and I just couldn't let that happen. I wasn't trained in time to take part in the battle at Ft. Sumter. I trained for perhaps a few months after my enlistment, being promoted to officer after my superiors saw my skills in command. For some reason, I was also particularly tough, maybe it was because I had always just lived on a little Georgian farm. I was given a new weapon, and some men to command. Then, I was placed under the command of General Jackson, and also under the command of General Beauregard, the same man who had led the attack on Fort Sumter a few months earlier. We were told that Yankees were marching towards Richmond with the intent of ending this war quickly, and we had to stop them at all costs. After all, Richmond was our capital, and without it, the Confederacy would be severely crippled before even its first birthday. The Yankees could not succeed. We planned to meet them somewhere in northern Virginia. We would have the advantage. We marched and marched for a long time until we saw any Yankees. Then all hell broke loose, when the Yankees saw us too. Guns were firing, the sickening scent of blood and gunpowder filled the air, and smoke permeated the entire area in only seconds. *end of page 1* What will you do?
*cough* Anyway, guys, I'm gonna punch out of the RPG for the night. I think I'll only be able to do a couple "rounds" a day, since I don't want to leave anybody out but I don't want to sit here typing scenarios all night either. I'm sure you understand. I hope you enjoyed the first round! Let me know any comments, questions, or suggestions you have.

Journal of Lt. James Brown of the Union Army July 20th, 1861 For the past few weeks, I have encouraged cleanliness in the camp, to my allies and to my fellow soldiers who I don't like so much. I thought that maybe our hygiene(or lack thereof) might have something to do with why all of us were getting sick. Being that I'm an officer, almost everybody did what I said; cleaning up some of the mess in the camp, moving the waste piles farther away, and checking their food almost constantly. It was the moving of the poop piles that did it, I'm sure of it. I'd noticed that some of the waste had been leaking into nearby streams, the same streams we drank from. I made a note to myself to move the piles of waste farther away from the camp every time, and to make sure it was far away from our food and our water. Now almost nobody's getting sick no more! Well, the people who were already sick can't be helped, but I know I saved the lives of hundreds if not thousands of my men with that piece of common sense. General McDowell himself came down to congratulate me, and said that I would get a very high honor in the upcoming battle; I wouldn't just be in the front lines, I would be leading the actual charge. I thanked him; after all, this was a very high honor, especially for a rookie just out of training. But I didn't say what the common sense that got me here told me; that leading the charge for the Union meant I would be the first target for the Rebels. Some honor. *end of page 3*.
*flip to page 4* July 21st, 1861 We have been intercepted by the Rebels a few hours after we entered Virginia! I'm practically in shock! There's got to be 22,000 men on the Southern army, no way have the Rebels got that many supporters! But apparently, they do. I didn't even get my so-called honor because we were just marching when we were attacked. I heard that the man leading them was General Beauregard, the same man who had attacked Fort Sumter months ago, and this was our chance for revenge. *end of page 4*. What will you do?

Journal of Pvt. Phillip Vasquez of the Confederate Army Battle of Fort Sumter I leapt onto my warhorse and with the slightest touch, it galloped along the lines of the battlements. I noted a spot where the cement is weak, and yelled at the artillery teams to aim there. Mortars and cannon fire quickly blasted a hole in the wall large enough for people to walk in and out. Infantrymen on my side started pouring into the fort. I decided not to follow them, since my horse couldn't fit in the hole. The artillery teams would have to keep this kind of fire up so I could breach the fort as well, but the Union had recovered from their shock and were mounting an offensive on our artillery. I saw one Confederate cannon being blown sky-high by the Union artillery, and another shot from them sent a full team of Confederate artillerymen into the air, some limbs flailing, other limbs disconnected. I had to stop the Union counteroffensive before they defused this assault. *end of page 2*. What will you do?

Journal of Pvt. Nickrov Krashklinkov of the Union Army Battle of Fort Sumter I grabbed some extra ammunition for my musket and clambered to the top of the battlements to defend Fort Sumter from the Rebels. I aimed my weapon and started firing. The artillery teams were doing the most damage to the Union defenses, but the Union artillerymen were taking them out well enough. But the Rebel artillery blasted a hole in a weak spot on the sturdy cement wall of the Union defense, and suddenly Rebel infantry started pouring into the inside of Fort Sumter, shooting and stabbing with their muskets and bayonets. I was pushed off the battlement suddenly, before I could defend myself from the Rebel, and fell about five feet to the ground below. I heard a CRUNCH! as I landed badly on my ankle, and limped into cover as a Rebel cavalryman rode by, shooting at me, but he missed. I was injured and in the middle of a battle. *end of page 3* What will you do?

Journal of Lt. James Brown of the Union Army Battle of Manassas I took cover behind a large boulder, pulling out my revolver in my right hand and wielding my saber in my left. Cannon fire boomed throughout the land, and mud dislodged by the artillery went flying. I was splattered with the dirt, as well as the other soldiers, Union and Confederate alike. I heard the CRACK! of musket fire and felt a whiz by my ear. I turned, and saw a Rebel infantryman reloading his weapon after firing. I raised my pistol, shot him once, twice, and he dropped to the ground. I felt blood trickling from my ear, he'd nicked me, but it was barely a scratch. I'd gotten lucky. I spotted a particularly large crater nearby, caused by mortar fire. It was large enough for me to lay in and fire in the prone position, but deep enough so that enemies would have a hard time hitting me. Well...disregarding the artillery, that is. It was a lot better than my boulder, so I quickly moved from my cover to the crater. I set my saber in the mud next to me and held my revolver in both hands. I aimed at a nearby Rebel, BANG! and killed him. But it was getting more and more difficult to fire. Screams, gunshots, filled the air so that I could hear nothing else, and thick black smoke from the artillery fire burned my eyes and nose, making it hard to see anything. I would have to do the rest of this battle with my saber, so I put my pistol back in its holster and grabbed my saber again. I stood up, out of the crater trying to find someone to attack. Everyone else was just as blind as I was, though, so I ducked back into my cover. This battle was just becoming blind shots of muskets and the BOOM! of artillery, and from the sounds of it, the Union was losing. Something had to be done. *end of page 5*
