In my school everyone makes fun of jews i was wondering if that was just my school or if it is other places and also why do people make fun of jews so much?
People will make fun of other people for just about anything. Jews are just like most other religions/races/ethnicities. They get made fun of, and frequently make fun of other people. If it's in good humor, it's not so bad (The worst jokes about Jews I know I heard from a Jew). When it crosses the line into racism and making other people feel bad about their heritage, then it becomes a problem. Of course, this is a problem for all races.
I imagine it happens everywhere, even in college and the workplace. If you haven't run into it, you probably just don't hang out with that crowd or haven't noticed it.
The hard part about this is recognizing when the line has been crossed. The harder part is standing up for what's right when that line does get crossed.
I know a lot of people of the younger generations, no offense but most of the people in this site, got it from Southpark like my generation, the 17-25 yr olds. And before that it was the whole 'Every jew is either an accountant or a lawyer', and it doesn't help that Jewish people I know tend to be self-depricating.
It happens in my school all the time, but people don't really hate Jews, their just playin around. I myself think it would be pretty cool to be a Jew cause if a teacher gave you a bad grade or something, you could just be like, its just because I'm Jewish isn't it! Lol. That would be cool.

You'll hear ethnic jokes all your life. If they're made in good taste, without malicious intent, eh, no biggie. If they're made to put people down, they're a problem, and we should stand up to that.
At almost every school, high-school middle whatever, you hear these jokes. We arn't pre-hitlers we are just kidding 'round. I myself have multiple Jewish friends and I crack some jokes at them and they crack jokes at me, it's fun. I will admit however that it can get extreme but so can everything else when you think about it.
in my school people now tend to use all religions as an insult kinda as a joke, people before used to insult people by saying stuff like "you jew!" as an insult, now they go on all religions just filling in the blank randomly with whichever religion comes to mind.
This is beginning to remind me of that topic on racism, and 'what is racism?'
Ethnicity is easy to mock; racial stereotypes apply to every race, and it's really a matter of contextual sensitivity as to whether something is "too much" or not. Or, in the case of Karoc's post, attention-seeking behavior at the expense of substance.
One of my school friends (back in the day, I'm old), for example, was blatantly asking for it when he took the Easter period as an opportunity to yell abuse at the top of his lungs, calling those of Jewish faith "Christ killers" to provoke them (despite not having any specific beef with Jewish people). Since boys will be boys, not surprisingly by the end of school there was a substantial lynch mob searching for him, so I had to secret him out by an alternate route otherwise he would have copped quite the beating!
Besides, the circles I run in, it's just not done to slag the Jews. They're most likely to be better educated and earn more than you do :P

Also Just because this is on the NET, dosent mean it's okey to say thease things, and if you think no one will ever know if you posted that in real life, someday thease habbits will come back to hunt you down, witch in return you'll say or do in real life, and then you wount be able to hide behind a computer!
