Why do governments feel the need to make drugs illegal? If anything, it causes a lot more problems than there were before. If they were legalized, there would not be nearly as many violent actions over getting them since the prices would not be nearly as high. There would not been as many people over doing it with drugs, since it would eventually just become a normal thing in day-to-day life.
If they're legalized, they'll kill less people than cigarettes. Also, if the use is controlled LIKE IT WOULD BE IF THEY WERE LEGALIZED, then people wouldn't get miserable.
well actualy weed was only made ilegal because paper companies didn't want hemp based paper because it would cut their profits and weed does not kill brain cells it actually paralyzes them un till your high is over now the deadly drugs like heroin meth and cocaine should be illegal because it can be very easy to kill yourself if your body can't handle it
Devos, if those drugs are legalized and monitored by the government, they'll be less dangerous. Heroin needles won't give AIDS and there'll be meds to help quit it. Same with cocaine. Meth will be drastically safer, and so will all now-illegal drugs, because they'll be made in factories And not people's bathrooms. If hard drugs are legalized, they'll be less of a danger to the people, and an entire criminal market which causes civil war in Mexico, costs billions of dollars here, and kills thousand of people each year will be instantly vaporized.
I agree with Devos, weed is fine but the hard drugs are a little much. Weed has little to no lasting effect when used responsibly, but drugs like meth, heroin and cocaine do have lasting effects that are probably worse than alcohol.
Simply put, since cigarettes and alcohol are already heavily regulated, imagine how heavily regulated hard drugs would be. MUCH more. Strict age regulations, purchase, etc. LESS PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED BY HARD DRUGS IF THEY ARE LEGALIZED.
Moe, keeping them illegal makes the lasting effects worse. These drugs are homemade and dangerous - if they're legalized, they'll be made in factories and be much less dangerous.

They would still be made at home, the gov't can't stop it now and they won't be able to stop it later. Plus if they heavily regulate it more people will return to homemade drugs.
now im not against it but reality is even though people are being killed over Hard drugs our government would never even try to leagalize Meth cocaine heroin and others but you also have to think even though of the strict laws if it were legalized imagine the death rate in the u.s. in the first five years when drugs are legalized

I heard it was because of racism, basically the Mexicans (Hispanics? Latinos?) were taking jobs (de turk er jerbs!!) and in order the hurt them the government tried to outlaw it. Thats just one of the few reasons it was outlawed which have nothing to do with anything the drug does.

If illegal drugs are legalized, then the black market will go away. That is a fact. Also, yeah, they'll still be made at home a little bit. Do lots of people make alcohol at home? No. do lots of people make cigars at home? No. Why? Because it's all commercially available.
no, not true at all. Since Indiana placed heavier regulations on alcohol, there hasn't been any increase at all in how much moonshine is amde, for example. If the stuff's regulated, then it'll be less dangerous and more powerful. If it's more powerful, peoople will choose it over the homemade stuff because a littler amout will last a longer time.
There is no way to argue that keeping illegal drugs illegal makes them safer or that legalizing them will make homemade drugs more prevalent. It's just not how it's ever worked in any real-life circumstances.
the reason why Weed was illegalized was because a Paper company didn't want hemp wich was faster growing and easily produced to be paper was because it would lose money so it's owner had a friend in congress and the guy in congress got other members to make weed ilegal it had nothing to do with Hispanic people that took jobs
