~~~King Lemon's Guide To:~~~
~~Making the Perfect Kraft Macaroni and Cheese~~
Materials:
A Medium-Large saucepan (i use a 4QT, if it's too small it will be hard to stir and is just not recommended)
1 Stirrer
1 Box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (MUST BE KRAFT MAC&CHEESE)
6 Cups of Water
Approx. 1/3 Cup Milk
Approx. 1 spoon full of butter (estimate with this one it does not have to be perfect, i usually just take a spoon and scoop out some butter, don't go crazy with this though!)
Now on to the Cooking:*
1)Turn the stove one to high
2)place the saucepan on the stove
3)next add the 6Cups of water.
4)Let the water heat up for about 3 Minutes.
5)Add the Kraft Macaroni
6)Let the Macaroni boil for about 6-7Minutes
---(When you go to check on the Macaroni there should be a sort of foam or haze in the water)
7)There may be clumps of macaroni, stir it in a back and forth motion then side to side (repeat until clumps are gone) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SMASH THE CLUMPS APART, YOU WILL SMASH THE NOODLES!
8)After stirring wait another 0:30-1:00minute to let the noodles boil a bit more (take a noodle out with the stirrer and feel it make sure it is soft but firm,
9)Drain the water into a sink
10)Pour the noodles back into the saucepan and add the Milk, Butter, and Kraft Cheese
11)Stir all the ingredients together using a the spoon (not the stirrer)
12)Let cool then eat! (well i mean you can eat it right away but it will be hot!)
---Total Approx. Time: 11-15Minutes
Now on to the Cooking:* - This is how i cook it, feel free to change any part of it to your liking.
I will be glad to hear how you make "The Perfect Mac&Cheese" just post how you would do it!
Does this work for easy mac? Having a hard time with that crap, exploding everywhere in my microwave then noodles dissolve and burn.
Should probably wrap some aluminum foil around the bowl next time.
Any tips?
Wow this is just too random.
Even for the tavern.
Perfect Mac and Cheese is just way too hard to obtain. It may even be impossible until now. Thanks King.
Are the instructions on the box the very same as the ones in this thread? If they are then you have the right to flag this. If not then try this and see which method is better. If the one on the box is better than you can flag this.
They arent the same, trust me. I've followed the directions on the box exactly and i really did not like the taste of the result(and this was not just once) so over time i created my own way to make it, i've seen some people add cheese to make it cheesier, that's in my opinion is not very good maybe to some but not me haha, the box calls for 1/4 cup of milk, i instead use 1/3.
I have practiced with 1/4,1/3, and 1/2 and found that 1/3 fit to MY PERSONAL LIKING,(and most people who eat it)
Adding more milk gives you more sauce, making the Macaroni "cheesier" when you're not adding any more cheese at all. just don't add too much milk haha!
either way we don't really need a cookbook on already made foods if it was homemade mac n' cheese i wouldn't flag no one cares if it's "cheesier" it's convenient almost pre-made food for a snack it's not homemade...
I understood the point of this topic, and yet i find it useless for me, since this topic's category doesn't fit anywhere in this community, it must go in the tavern, some cooks might get attracted to it as we speak, lets hope this guide helps people! and I'm also a macaroni & cheese lover.
Here are the instructions on the box:
6Cups Water
4 Tbsp. Margarine
1/4 cup 2%milk
BOIL water. Stir in Macaroni. Boil 7 to 8 min. or until Macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally.
DRAIN. DO NOT RINSE, Return to pan.
ADD margarine, milk, and Cheese Sause Mix; mix well.
I will admit, they are similar, but please do realize i created mine FROM theirs. Similarities and Difference's are appearant, but mine IS different in certain ways, I think you can see them yourself.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
It's not that it's "cheesier", I am simply sharing my way to cook a home classic. Even if it's "already made foods" it has been around long enough that people have added their own ways of making it. This is, personally, the only way i prefer my Mac&Cheese. It's not that i find the others unappeasing, i just don't think they are as good.
You know, you can always made your separate topic for your tip on how to cook a poptart rather than posting it here.
No i do not mind, This topic was mainly created as a "guide to" things that don't fit in any where else.
Just sort of follow how i did it.
Or you can do what Zanto said...Lol i can just see a whole bunch of people doing that >_>
Haha i never said I was a cook, we're all cooks in a sense anyways :P, if there is a certain way you fry your eggs, or make your pancakes, then you would be a "cook". But you're missing the point of this thread. I kept the title vague "King Lemon's Guide to:" because i was not intending on JUST having a cooking guide in here, it just happens to be the first thing. Like i said it can be a "How To" that doesnt fit into any other topic. But if it is going to be a "cooking guide" then it can be a collection of different ways people cook the same thing, you might add extra cheese to your mac and cheese, or, or, set your toaster on the highest setting for 2 minutes (not waiting for it to pop up), Are you understanding what i'm getting at?
(BTW the toaster example for pop tarts is just an example, not what I do or have heard or anything)
